Is this administration just a bunch of children?

Does this admninistration act like children?

I guess you failed to read the thread, dunno:confused:

Obama and the idiots are spending more money to close open exhibits that is spent when they are open. Has nothing to do with the shutdown.

Since when does the Executive Branch write laws and spend money?

It's pretty funny how you try to insult someone who demonstrated they understand how the budget impacts services when you clearly do not.

The article shows that the National Parks are closed down due to the requirements involved with conserving the wildlife and scenery this has nothing to do about who is at fault for the shutdown.

I know, I believe I said that though I'm sorry if it wasn't clear.

I used the article to show why the parks were closed because many people don't quite understand why and continue to badger about it.

I then asked them to realize that along with the fact these parks had to be closed, Obama really had no direct part in the shutdown, it was primarily caused by the congressional republicans.

Good day Polgara :2wave:

People do change their minds. If you remember back in April or early May of 2009 CNN with Wolf Blitzer did a special on Obama's first 90 days in office. CNN conducted a survey of only those voters who voted for Obama in 2008. When the results were revealed live on CNN by Blitzer, you may have remembered the expression on Blitzer face when the results were released. 15 % of those who voted for Obama said they believe they may have made a mistake voting for Obama.

By 2010 and 2011 even MSNBC was hinting that Obama might be a one term President.

During 2012 Obama ran on lies, cover ups, and misinformation to be given a second chance and reelected. It seems to have worked.

For any young people out there who are seriously thinking of getting involved in politics and running for elected office here's a sure way of getting elected to public office. Start with getting involved with Chicago politics and read Sauhl Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." It's a no brainier and a shoe in into a political career. Who knows, you could be President some day.

Definitely not interested! I've got enough people in my life already telling me what I am doing wrong! Some I pay, like my attorney and CPA--the rest I ignore! Fortunately I don't golf, either!

Greetings, APACHERAT! :2wave:

Here's the problem with those numbers, they were cooked. The Obama administration includes illegal aliens caught at the border who are immediately returned across the border. The majority of the illegal aliens that the Obama counts as being deported were never deported. It takes a court order to deport someone. So the numbers are bogus, just another Obama lie.

Apparently you chose to listen to talk radio instead of read.

While the numbers are historic, they’re not dramatically larger than 2010 deportations, which were reported at “more than 392,000.”

As Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano alluded a few weeks ago, 55 percent of the deported immigrants — about 216,700 people — had criminal convictions (felonies or misdemeanors). Overall, the number of criminals deported has increased 89 percent since 2008.

This emphasis on criminal deportations is in line with changes the administration says it’s made in response to criticism (from social justice groups and state governors alike) that its Secure Communities program — a high-tech way of tracking immigration violators via fingerprint data — is sowing fear and deporting low-level offenders (or people without records at all).

But questions remain about what kind of criminals are being deported. ICE’s press release states that 87,547 had been convicted of either homicide, sexual offenses, drug-related crimes or driving under the influence. This is only about 40 percent of the total number of criminal deportations. But the release doesn’t indicate how many had low-level offenses on their record.

ICE says that 19.6 percent of detainees were repeat immigration violators, and 11.6 percent were border removals. Border Patrol apprehensions and prosecutions for illegal re-entry have dropped dramatically in the past five years, from 1,089,092 in 2006 to 463,382 in 2010. While not all Border Patrol apprehensions result in ICE removals, observers suggest that it’s fair to assume a corresponding decline. The increase in overall deportation numbers suggests that ICE is relying more on “interior” enforcement to meet its goal, mandated by Congress, of 400,000 deportations per year.

Just read what you said a few times and think about it some.
Do you honestly think that Obama has lied about anything?
Why would Obama "count" anything? He has enough responsibilities without counting deportations.
Why would Obama lie about deporting more? Deporting more loses Obama votes. Obama can pander to Teabaggers all he wants... he will not gain one single vote.
But he stood to lose plenty of votes by having more deportations.
Apply some logic. If he was gonna lie, he would conceal the deportations.

Not exactly, I personaly know more than a few Border Partol ageant and it's a good source to confirm stories you either read or hear.

Border Patrol Rep Claims Agents Being Ordered to Stand Down
The National Border Patrol Council has come forward to reveal to the American public once again management practices that could be risking the lives of Americans -- and the lives of illegal immigrants.
>" Border Patrol management has begun the practice of ordering Border Patrol Agents to stand down and cease pursuing drug smugglers, human smugglers and traffickers, and illegal aliens. He also warned it could lead to illegal aliens entering the country from nations associated with terrorism.

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s drugs, bodies, or how large the group is, our agents are being ordered to stand down by Border Patrol management,” said Moran. "I have received reports from our agents in every single sector from San Diego to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas that they are receiving these orders."..."<

How the Obama Administration Inflates Deportation Statistics
Tuesday, February 12, 2013,

>" For the last few years, the Obama Administration has claimed that it's deporting a record number of illegal aliens. But, the Administration is adding numbers to its overall deportation statistics that have not been historically included in the total number of annual deportations. Here's a look at how the Obama Administration has artificially inflated the number of deportations.

Download the Fact Sheet

•Removal numbers have traditionally consisted of legal immigrants who have committed crimes, those who overstay visas, or illegal aliens caught inside the country.
◦The immigration statistics yearbook states that removals are the compulsory and confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States based on an order of removal.
◦An alien who is removed has administrative or criminal consequences placed on subsequent reentry owing to the fact of the removal.
•In the past, removal numbers did not include “returns,” who are Mexican nationals caught illegally crossing the border by the Border Patrol and returned.
◦According to the yearbook, returns are the confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States not based on an order of removal.
◦Most of the voluntary returns are of Mexican nationals who have been apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol and are returned to Mexico.
•The Obama administration has started counting certain “returns” as “removals” in order to artificially inflate the numbers and create a “record level” of deportations. Specifically, those caught by the Border Patrol who are shuttled to a different town along the border before they are returned are being dishonestly counted as deportations. This has falsely increased the number of total removals by more than 100,000 for the past two years.
•In fact, if we count removals and returns together historically, then the Obama administration numbers are not close to “record-setting.” In the 1990s, the totals of returns and removals were well over one million. For example, according to the yearbook of immigration statistics, in 1996, removals and returns numbered more than 1.6 million, up from more than 1.3 million in 1995.
•In an October 2011 roundtable with Hispanic reporters, President Obama himself said the deportation numbers were artificially high because they include those caught at the border: "<

No. It isn't. The people voted for Obama. They know the GOP is holding everything up just because they don't like ObamaCare.

This ends anytime the Republicans want it to. All they have to do is pass a clean resolution on the budget THEY wanted in the first place. On which the Democrats already negotiated plenty, and do not need to negotiate anything more.

The current polls are irrelevant. The only poll that matters is the one that re-elected the President who gave us ObamaCare and defeated the one whose only domestic policies were running against it and cutting taxes on the rich.

If there were another Presidential election today, Obama would win in a landslide even bigger than his first two.

The current polls are showing what the people are thinking today, not in the past. People change their minds all the time, which is why I stated "it's not over yet."

It is over. Even Yogi Berra would say it's over. The executive branch, the legislative branch, the judicial branch, and THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, in the only way that matters, all approved it.

I think they are just blocking those public exhibits off for political means. The administration is hoping that people get pissed off that they can't see these open air exhibits and will complain to their elected officials to cave in to the democrats.

This is just the beginning. I received my open enrollment today for work and guess what. I am going to be paying 20% more and have less coverage than I did before Obamacare. The union guys from the plants have this same insurance and they are screaming today.

Who's acting like children? The Republicans shut down the government because they didn't get their way in the election.

Your poll should have one more option: No, it is the Republicans who are acting like children.

Spoken like a true liberal, Obama and senate shut it down because they did not get their way. I hope it stays down after what I saw today thanks to Obamacare. I called my representatives and senators today and let them know how a really felt.

The House T's have voted to pay people for not working. It has everything to do with their shutdown.

nothing, it just shows that democrats have no intention of bi-partisanship. I hope the mother****er never reopens

I understand the powers an administration will use to get their way. I am sorry to are too naive to see the real world through those rose colored glasses.

Actually, it appears you don't understand what branch has what power. You just blamed the Executive branch for behavior that it cannot do per the Constitution.

I am sorry to are too naive to see the real world through those rose colored glasses.

Fantasy land where you get to make up what powers each branch has is just a fantasy land.

Like I said, democrats are naive to the real world which is why we have this mess now.

Sadly That is what a lot of those T's in the House are saying too. Have they no shame?

Let it stay closed. Federal employees need a taste.

Where did that come from? Hate will get you nowhere, I promise.

Federal employees have been on the gravy train, they need a taste of the real world. Hate has given the democrats everything they want

You're a liar. Obama and the Democrats DID get their way! In case you haven't been paying attention, there was an ELECTION. And in that election, the American people voted for a Democratic President, a Democratic Senate, and Democratic House candidates got over a million more votes than Republican ones. The American people WANT Democratic government (Capital and lower-case D), and they WANT ObamaCare -- actually, they want more than that, they want universal coverage.

It is the Republicans who didn't get what they want, and it is the Republicans who have shut everything down.

They wanted Obamacare until they found out Obama, Pelosi, and Reid lied their ****ing asses off about the bill. Now our whole union is crying the blues but hey Democrats have brought this on themselves. I hope we keep losing services, it will make me feel better knowing democrats are finally feeling the pinch.

Sure they can, here's how.

IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!

Democrats are like 8 track tapes, sooner or later the same message comes back around

yeah remember how the one-inch-long metal foil that activates the track-change sensor would cause a break in the tunage when it would change tracks?
The dems really are like like them 8-tracks, commie throwbacks outta the 20th century

They found out about those "lies" before the election, and knew they weren't lies. And voted to re-elect the President.

"Finally"? Democratic voters ALWAYS feel the pinch. If they didn't feel it, they'd vote Republican.

I can accept disagreements, due to differences of opinion. I cannot accept willful ignorance.

Wow, is there any place on the internet I can get away from bias? This poll is another sham poll. If this is an argument, you would ask if any of the parties involved are to blame. Not just varying degrees of one ideology's right over the other obviously wrong one.

Is the Administration acting like children? No. The GOP is. As I understand it there were some GOP budget cuts already in the piece the House passed, that the Senate said they would also approve. I will have to look up the number. But the GOP wants everything they want and if they dont get it, they won't put it up for a vote even.

So who is acting like children?

They don't have the votes to get it done legislatively, and the ACA was upheld in the Supreme Court even with Roberts, Scalia, Alito, and Thomas on the bench.

They are not only acting like children but setting a dangerous precedent. Lets get to the brink of default, and because we don't like something refuse to move forward until the minority's agenda is passed. Wait til the shoe is on the other foot, and the Dems do it to the GOP. Because now they will. Bad politics breeds more bad politics.

What should be done, is what we should expect them to do. Fund legislation to get us out of the emergency. THEN, work towards changing legislation they do not like. IF they cannot get it done through votes, then the system has worked. The people have spoken.

Now whether or not the voice of the people is an accurate representation of the good of the people is another matter. We have corporate controlled media, who believe the ends justify the means, and that viewpoints are not right or wrong but instead market share or market dynamics, feeding the population with corn syrup news via an IV drop all day every day, feeding us with false truths, half truths, misdirected facts and opinions masqueraded as fact. They are dividing right and wrong between them into left and right (black or white analogy). Converting issues and substance into opposition to the other party, so that truth and fiction are hard to tell apart anymore. Once we don't know what is truth and what is partisan cattle prods guiding us where they want us to go, into our opposite camps, then we believe anything they say. How do you find truth in all of that? Combine that with the fact that our politicians are placed in office not by us, but by corporate and wealthy donors courtesy of PAC's, Super PACs, and other contributions, and they owe their donors more than their constituencies. We are just cattle falling into line following the media as it tells us where to go and what to believe..... Sorry getting sick of the partisanry and lack of grasp on reality in this public domain. :(

How many here have been to DC? I have. There is no legitimate reason to block off the various outdoor exhibits other than Obama and company choose to act like children. Same with Mt. Rushmore. They are spending more money just to be assholes.

I disagree that it is the Republicans that are primarily to blame, The Dems could have passed the House bill in the Senate and the President could sign it ant there would be no shut down. There would just not be funding for Obama Care.
