Shutdown Pool - When does it reopen?

When will the government shutdown end?

I'm guessing Friday the 11th. The smart GOP are gonna crack by then.

And that is different from the Republican motto, how?

Anyhow, you do not seem to understand what would happen if we default on our debt.

Last time the Republicans merely threatened the debt ceiling it costs us a credit rating.
To actually default would cost us dearly.
Not only would we be paying significantly more interest on trillions of dollars, but our currency would drop as well.

You will wake up and milk will be 10 dollars, a gallon of gas around 10 dollars too.
When this happens there will be no jobs. There will be anarchy and chaos. Murder in the streets.

It will be the hardcore Republican utopia. Those with ammo eat with bloody hands. Those without ammo stink up the streets.

Ah fear mongering now. I guess you forgot when it shut down under Clinton. I have plenty of ammo.

Do I understand the winners get to split the pool of $16.7 Trillion?

Sounds like you have no concept at all of the difference between a Government shutdown and defaulting on our debt.

A Government shut down is meaningless. It does cost the economy and it hurts a lot of lives. But in the big picture it is but a mosquito bite.
There have been many more Government shut downs than just the two under Clinton.

On October the 17th we default on our debt. This is an entirely different matter.
We have never come close to doing this. When the Republicans just toyed with the idea of it, it got our credit downgraded for the first time in American History.
For the purpose of comparison this is like comparing a nuclear bomb to a fire cracker.
Technically we are bound to pay whatever bills come in first. But some argue that we can pick and choose. If we choose social security checks, we fail to pay the interest on our debt. If we choose the interest, we fail to pay social security.
Eventually, no matter how you slice it, we will fail to pay that interest at some point.

As we approach the point again of failing to increase the debt limit to pay our bills, our credit will be down graded again.
Once we pass October 17th without an agreement, our credit will be massively downgraded.
Once this happens, the Nations of the world will cease to use our currency as their basis.
Our currency will collapse, (not entirely but it might as well).

The best case scenario is that there will be no jobs and everything will cost twice as much.
The worst case scenario is unthinkable.
Either way, it will take decades to stabilize our currency and to fix our credit.

The only positive in all of this is that we wont be having to worry about Republican sheep anymore.

Obama already hurt our credit rating, I don't recall you bitching about that. Unfortunately for all of us several dumbasses voted this idiot in now we all have to pay thre price.

You can't be that dense. I think I am being trolled...

Alright folks, lets have some fun.

This thread is NOT for debating whether or not you agree with the shut down, whose at fault, etc. PLEASE park your partisanship at the door. This poll is for a bit of fun.

When do you think the government reopens, and if you want, why? (Please see the previous request).

Let's see who out of us manages to be good prognosticators at the end of this whole thing.

October 11-14. I can't see this lasting any longer than that. There will be HELL to pay.

Yeah because it was just Obama right? Didn't have ANYTHING to do with congress huh? Save your partisan stool sample for the idiots like rush limpdick that eat it whole.

The sooner the better. I'd like to be able to move in our awesome new house before the end of the month.

As usual you only have personal insults. Oh did I rain on your "blame Obama for everything" post? Your partisan comments are nothing but **** and everyone sees that.

Compared your standard bull****? You never post anything of substance, fence sitters are the cowards of society.

No the sheeple that vote Dem and Reps are cowards. People like you complain about spending and then vote in big spenders. You are nothing but a hypcocrite like the rest of the sheeple. Your comments shall just be quoted as baaaaaah from now on.

To be honest I think defaulting on the debt wouldn't be seen as a bad thing among certain people. I don't think it will happen on October 17th though. I think we'll find a way to pay interest for a little while, whether that's more accounting games or what. And you could say that we have defaulted on our debt before.

Zyphlin specifically asked for NO debating in THIS thread.
WTF is wrong with you people, no matter your lean is?

Forgot the selection stating: "After at least 3 million more illegals cross the border."
That's what the libs are hoping for while the border patrol gets their hands tied even tighter with this bull***t.

Are you saying the debt hasn't increased under Obama? I can't believe you had the balls or brains to ask that!

The US credit rating has remained unchanged EXCEPT for the downgrade the came as a result of the threat of not raising the debt ceiling. If you read the article you would realize that S&P primarily blamed Congress but then wrapped it up in a general indictment of the American political climate. Having facts, figures and cites provides the balls and brains that lets me make that statement.

You, on the other hand, simply shot from the hip.... and as most people shoot from the hip, you pretty much hit your foot as your original assertion is a giant fail. Increasing your debt is not the same thing as hurting your credit rating.
