Yeah, you're right, I'm naive. I'm not the one in this particular debate that has actually been to all the crap hole countries we are talking about and seen how people over there perceive us. People in the Arab world don't care about what doesn't affect them personally. They are vastly different people than we are. When someone in, for instance, the Diyala Province in Iraq hear about a car bomb killing 20 in Anbar Province, it's no big deal to them. For us, when we hear that someone bombed the Boston Marathon, we all unite behind the cause. When we build a water well between two villages in Afghanistan, no one uses it. Why? Because one village has to own one and the other has to own another. They can't share due to years of family strife. We, on the other hand, would share a well for the good of the community. The average citizen from most of these countries only knows what they've seen on Al Jazeera. Middle Eastern governments do not have a perception of us other than being the big bully that they can occasionally bait into fighting a battle for them so they can continue to reap oil rewards. We aren't that big of a deal over there despite popular opinion.Very naive post. If America is perceived as weak, the world's predators begin to probe, jabs to see how far they can go, how much they can get away with, stuff that never makes the radar of a Liberal MSM, events that happen entirely in foreign countries. Notice how much more Russia is flexing it's muscles since Obama betrayed Poland with the withdrawal of the promised missile defense.
Others, internally, begin to betray a disrespected Obama and their country by leaks.
Obama is the wrong person in the wrong place and the consequences are enormous for the United States.
In other arenas, Americans don't care what the world thinks, but when it comes to fear and disrespect, that is vital.
The thing is, you can't prove your THEORY
. I, however, can prove the fact that when we don't meddle in the Middle East, we have no issues. Before we started meddling in Iran's affairs in the 70's, we had no issue with the Middle East. But we couldn't leave well enough alone. Now, look where it got us. This belief that they must just hate us is true, however, it isn't because they are so jealous of us. It's because we feel the need to put our nose in their business every chance we get. There are definitely some hard line Muslims who hate America. Not because they hate the idea of us. They hate us because we've bombed the crap out of them for years. Because we've taken out many leaders that they endorsed. Because we feel like we should force democracy down their throat.that the world's predators begin to probe
