Are you in favor of destroying this monster before it gets out of hand?

Remember, the oppression begins next January. Are you ready for it????
I would rather see the "monster" morphed into a mynx.
We spend twice as much as other countries for health care.
Yet, compared to other countries on something like longevity, United States recently ranked 34th!
I would rather see people screaming about why our health care monopoly costs so much
rather than who is able to afford it, or who is able to get it.

To just wholesale have elimination and return to the good old days of lifetime caps, pre-existing conditions, etc
does not sound like the way to go.

Guess I'm part of the fix-rather-than-repeal crowd.
Just sayin'

Actually i think current research indicates the public costs at the emergency room are not due to people who don't have health insurance, and the current use is only likely to increase under the ACA. This is because we have a lack of primary care physicians, and due to govt payment schemes, these physicians tend to turn down medicare and medicaid patients

Even though I am on the "other side of the fence", I can agree with you that there are problems with how primary physicians are compensated by medicare and medicaid.
Morally and ethically I am a big supporter of both. But I have also witnessed with my own eyes and ears that doctors are refusing medicare patients.

I wonder if the lack of primary physicians also has anything to do with just how much money the specialists make.
For example, when a GI doctor makes 20k per day, why would a person want to be a primary and make 100k per year? (Values are admittedly my guestimates. But fit my own doctors pretty well, I think)

Anyhow, I agree. We need twice as many physicians and some type of compensation revamp for medicare.

It's highly dependent on how much specialists make.

That is true. The current US healthcare system misappropriates resources to areas based on profit rather than need.

What does that even mean in the context of HC specialists?

We have tons of GI docs doing endo's and few clinic docs keeping CHF patients out of the hospital.

I don't know if we have an actual glut of specialist care in this country, either. Being that every time I had to arrange appointments with such care providers, I tended to have to wait a significant amount of time.

Them too, especially if they are involved in shoot-outs. I am sick of caring for those who don't care and don't have insurance, no matter their political stripe. I'm even giving up on means-testing.
you mean like crack dealers and their whorish moms from the projects

I should have voted other but bottomline is to Repeal Obamacare and revamp Medicare.
