Good evening, Miss P, and thanks for the invite. Sounds fun. Cleveland does, indeed, rock.

Is it BYO?
Anthony Bourdain did a show on Cleveland once. He actually made it appear semi-enticing.

If the Conservatives ever control enough to destroy the middle class and bring us to the days of nobles and peasants, it could happen.
But it would happen along side many different types of riots, total chaos, massive poverty, and the end of our Nation.

Good morning, Painter. :2wave:

If you don't see "nobles and peasants" in today's society, you haven't been paying attention to what's going on in DC! We're already thought of as the peasants! They exempt themselves from laws that apply to us, and they don't care what we think about it!

I believe that any riots would quickly be quelled by the police. They have families they worry about, too. We are not a third world country, where we don't know any other form of governance except chaos! Rational people will protect their families against lawbreaking thugs, and they won't much care what color they are!

I guess you were not around in the sixties.

Good evening, Navy Pride. :2wave:

The "nobles and peasants" thinking wasn't as obvious then as it is now, IMO. Maybe it was, but it's more blatant now. The odd thing is that half the peasants today don't seem to realize they are peasants, or if they do, they don't care!

Good evening polgara . can you describe for us what you think a peasant is? Thank you.

I used the word peasant when responding to the poster who used that word, but I think "serf"would be a better word. A peasant usually refers to someone who makes their living in agriculture. That is not the case in today's society, as most farming is done by machine, but the rest is still done by peasants, or illegal aliens. A serf, on the other hand, usually meant someone who was in the lower feudal classes in any culture, and who was obligated by a noble to provide labor for the lord's betterment. Today it is tax money, instead of labor, that is provided by the serfs for the lord's use. They don't usually have a say where their tax money is going to be used, though, so not a lot has changed from the good old days of real feudalism, IMO. :lamo:

we have already had them. In Cincinnati after Officer Steven Roach shot unarmed but wanted Timothy Thomas after a long foot pursuit into the most dangerous neighborhood in the USA.

we came close to them after Zimmerman walked.
