The Daily Caller is not a credible source. What you link to here is exactly the kind of bull**** that I have learned to expect from the right.

Re: Has obama brought the races together

These documents on how Barack Obama has based his career on fomenting group-based resentments and thereby energizing his political base. "Hope and change" has, in practice, all too often become "divide and conquer." Obama's propensity to pit populations and “interests” against each other in this manner is an outgrowth of the socialist worldview that sees all human interactions in terms of "class struggles." The divisions that Obama seeks to promote, as the following material shows, are not only those of class, but also of race, ethnicity, and sex.

The OP was a simple yes or no question, if you read more into it you need even more time on the couch.

as is usually the case with you, no courage ... the only simple thing about your OP is you ...

What is complicated about the OP? It is a simple yes or no question that you refuse to answer because you don't like the answer.

Re: Has obama brought the races together

When Obama first ran for pres all I heard from the left is how electing a black as pres would do great things for race relations in this country and at the time I agreed but Obama has acted just like a Sharpton or a Jackson at every opportunity and he has done nothing but make things worse. He could have risen above it, not taken the bait and not played the poor oppressed black man at every opportunity.
He has has anything but that, but the racists and GOP still hate him.

Re: Has obama brought the races together

Start with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton as the two most successful race-baiters.
Two out of 320 million? That's known as "stretching".

nothing is complicated about it ... just the opposite ... it's as simple as you are ... you wanted to accuse Obama of dividing the races, so instead of coming out with it and simply saying it, you pose a half-assed question, which from what I've seen from other posts, fell flat on its face ... in five days many of us will be celebrating the 50th anniversary March on Washington and protesting voter suppression ... you will be mourning the day, and celebrating voter suppression ... why not pull the question and post it again on the 28th? it's likely to get a more interesting reaction, don't you think?

It was an honest question, read into it what you will. As for falling on it's face so far the poll is 25 to 10 in favor of Obama made things worse so most agree with me, you are truly delusional.

It was a pretty good question, of the kind that doesn't get asked often enough. And some of us will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington AND the ballot protection initiatives that defend the value of the March's gains.:peace

I said start with. You're just desperate to pretend there isn't a point being made. Typical.

Re: Has obama brought the races together

In another thread someone tried to tell me Obama has united the races. His sole argument for this was that whites voted for him. IMO Obama has made race relations even worse and has squandered a golden opportunity to bring this country together with his divisive statements and the way he has inserted himself into various race related issues in a Sharpton, Jackson like fashion. I'm curious what others think and why.

Obama at NY Town Hall: ‘I’m a Testament’ To Racial Progress.....

President Obama touched on the issue of race today at a town hall meeting in New York at Binghamton University. Responding to a question about educational opportunities for minorities, Obama acknowledged the progress America has made in race since Martin Luther King, Jr.'s momentous 'I Have a Dream' speech on August 28, 1963.

"Obviously we've made enormous strides -- I'm a testament to it, you're a testament to it, the diversity of this room and the students who are here is a testimony to it."

Yet, the president insisted,

"Institutional barriers for success for some groups still exist.".....snip~

Obama at NY Town Hall:

Funny.....he was never talking about it much when he was round here. Guess he didn't have the pizsazz to over-shadow Jesse back then.....huh?

thank you for taking the time, but you and I know what you think about racism in this country ...

Re: Has obama brought the races together

He jumped in and played the poor oppressed black man at every opportunity. You say it was only a few times, so what. The reality is those were huge race relation events that he morphed into Jesses Jackson for.
I doubt you've read a single press release or transcript of his on the issue.

Re: Has obama brought the races together

And yet the story is true . . .
Denial always ends badly.

Bringing it up in this thread is far right bull****. It has nothing to with whether Obama has brought the races together. It's another attempt to make Obama look bad using something that he had nothing to do with personally. It's a cheap trick.

Re: Has obama brought the races together

Obama's job is not to bring races together. He is President. I want him focusing on the economy and foreign affairs. He was not elected President to bring the races together. I have noticed, however, that it brought out the racist side of some people, who got very upset that a black man got elected....twice. I'm from the deep south, and I was truly surprised at how many outright racists there are in this country, still. (I saw plenty of pics of white people dressed up as black African witchdoctors at anti-Obama rallies, pics of blacks with big lips making the rounds on anti-Obama sites, the birther crazies, and recently a clown with an act about black Obama with big lips and being killed by a bull and having a pole rammed up his ***). And I grew up around plenty of racists...but I didn't think there were that many left, and that they hated blacks that much.

I don't think of him as black or white or purple. Really. (Note: I'm white and from the deeeeep south.) I suppose Obama has had about the same effect on race relations that George Bush did. Did you ask that question about Bush?

Re: Has obama brought the races together

That is a ****ing hoax dude. It was a letter to the editor of the Washington Star. The Washington Star later apologized and said it was printed without verifying it's authenticity. It's Congressional record because a follow up by the Star read by a Rep from NY shows no Israel Cohen existed, and there was never a book with that title. It was used by a southern Mississippi Rep in a debate against the Civil Rights Act. Claiming that Civil rights was a communist plot was a common tactic by southern racist during the era. I'm hoping you posted that in ignorance!

You liberals, always going on about insignificant details.

(irony alert)

Re: Has obama brought the races together

Which party continues to harp on these issues as a basis to advance its agenda. You see, once race is removed from the equation, you then need to deal with the underlying issues...

Americans hate talking about class issues even more than they hate talking about race issues. In fact, race is often used to avoid talking about class.
