I agree. It is a byproduct of a very good thing... liberation/suffrage. That being said, how does it benefit kids to be in day care or babysat by the TV simply so that mom and dad can have two incomes and careers? I don't think that it does...

You're right... I didn't give you the same respect. Sorry. I will get to your post soon.

Well said and thank you for sharing... :2razz:

Every person has a masculine and feminine side... the healthiest possible way of raising children is balance. A mother and a father are the best way to do this, all things being equal.

If "every person has a masculine and a feminine side" then why do kids need a mother and a father?
That doesn't make sense.
Any two- or one, or three, or five- people will do.
Two moms? Sure. They each have a masculine and a feminine side.
Two dads? Why not? They've each got a feminine side as well as a masculine side.
One dad? Why the hell not? He's got both a masculine and a feminine side to him. Who even needs a mom?

I don't know where you're getting this "masculine and feminine side" thing, anyhow.
While sex is biological, gender is merely a social construct, and doesn't have anything to do, really, with raising kids.
I didn't have a mom. I'm glad I didn't. I turned out fine.

Who in the hell necroed this thread?!!!

A mix of the ripping of god and religion in society, increasing selfishness (people who put themselves before their children or their commitments), and the feminist movement is working on beating down the final vestiges of a society centered around the nuclear family (a pattern that has lasted since the middle ages of Europe) and to a society in which kids are raised by their teachers, tv, and saddest of all, other kids. Being 15 myself, i would absolutely never forgive my parents if they separated before i left the house because the worst possible thing you could ever do to a kid, even worse than corporal punishment or other terrible disciplinary procedures, is to selfishly rip apart what is often the only sense of security that child feels, that his family is together, even if the rest of the world seems to be falling apart.

Excellent post and a Good Evening to you, Lt. General.

family is a power structure that competes with the government for control over the minds of the young.

the weaker the family the stronger the state.

Rockefellers supposedly funded feminism to weaken the family.

either that - or people just aren't stupid enough any more.

A mix of the ripping of god and religion in society,
God and religion in society:

"Muslim Girl murdered by father for refusing to wear hijab".

Canadian Muslim leader: Girl murdered by father for refusing to wear hijab a victim "of domestic violence, a problem that cuts across Canadian society and is blind to colour or creed" - Jihad Watch

"Any child which strikes his father or mother shall be put to death" - Old Testament

increasing selfishness
Decreasing selfishness, the number of active charities has far increased over the years.

(people who put themselves before their children or their commitments)
Such as this God-fearing religious man:

Canadian Muslim leader: Girl murdered by father for refusing to wear hijab a victim "of domestic violence, a problem that cuts across Canadian society and is blind to colour or creed" - Jihad Watch

, and the feminist movement is working on beating down the final vestiges of a society centered around the nuclear family (a pattern that has lasted since the middle ages of Europe)
Middle Ages of Europe:

Spanish Inquisition
"Witch" burnings
Genocide of children

Need I continue?

and to a society in which kids are raised by their teachers, tv, and saddest of all, other kids.

1. This isn't true.

2. As opposed to being raised by fascist religious state like those of the middle ages?

Wow you're a spoiled little brat. Guess "family values" taught you a lot.

before i left the house because the worst possible thing you could ever do to a kid, even worse than corporal punishment or other terrible disciplinary procedures, is to selfishly rip apart what is often the only sense of security that child feels, that his family is together, even if the rest of the world seems to be falling apart.
Worse than murdering your child for not wearing a burka, I agree. So is the "morality" of traditional "families" (my butt).

Next? Yawn...

Why do so many religious people hate families? Why do they claim to stand up for 'family values' but demean 1000s of great American families just because their kids may (gasp) watch TV or listen to popular music.

Also, why do said religious people claim to respect the "sanctity" of the family, but admit themselves that they would "never forgive their parents" for trivial reasons? Weird. I guess you just lose your critical thinking skills when you get old.

Should have guessed. :doh

Basic psychology Captain... you're jealous.

We are not talking about some ****ty mom that maybe yours was, or whatever... just that you are glad that you didn't have a mom at all... :doh

That is seriously one of the most ignorant remarks that I have literally ever heard.

I don't think that she is "spoiled" tooth, just naive... give her a break, she's 15 and thinking about this stuff. :2razz:

Maybe he had a very ****ty mom so he's glad that she left.

It's slightly ironic. She complains that children don't respect their parents enough, but she said herself that she'll "never forgive my parents" if they end up separating. So much for "respecting your parents".

I agree... maybe, but that is not what she said, she simply said that she was glad that she didn't have a mom.

don't start getting logical on her now...

Well yeah lol. What if hypothetically her dad became a meth addict and was smoking meth at home for his kids to breath in, and her mom divorced him. So she'd never forgive her mom for leaving a meth addict?
