This is not far left idiocy. It is just idiocy. It is what the Dems are stuck with in their big tent and it cost them dearly in 2010 both ways.

Now which far right loons are helping your GOP tent right now? The MIZZOU assclown? Or the House assclowns? OR the shut-er-down limpoids?

that's just plain moronic. Its the classic far left idiocy of "DOING SOMETHING" is what matters even if the IMPACT is harmful. I stand up for the athletes-not a few upset homosexual advocates who think that their right to engage in public sexual displays is more important than the athletes

Why not? If it is not the US flag which is a petty protest BTW. The athletes can at least be seen as being from the States and the President can get his beanies a win/win deal.

The Olympics is for Nations, not States, or Regions, or Provinces, or even Commonwealths within Nations.

Sorry, but the gay agenda is NOT what our country stands for.

its not even the gay agenda. ITs about a few people feeling a need to be able to engage in public displays of homosexual sex in a country that doesn't allow it

why isn't TiredofLife damning Muslim nations?

WTF do you know about the olympics? You have never been on a team, trained a team member or even tried out for a team. You have no clue whatsoever about this topic

I do, but in this case they aren't holding the Olympics or threatening our athletes.

He should go to one and publicly make out with a homosexual in protest.

LOL it would be a new meaning of "Stoned"

I may not even be able to roll a ball across the floor for the dog, and it doesn't matter a damn. Get beyond your emotions.

your chief silliness on this topic is assuming gay athletes are being threatened.

Lets ask the other posters

who appears more emotionally agitated?

me-a guy who says athletes should not be punished so some hand wringing gay activists can feel better or

someone who wants to ruin the lives of our athletes so he can make a silly impotent statement about a policy he doesn't like?

Nope, but it's not in the Olympic Spirit either. Even Hitler didn't threaten to kick the black guys out and that is saying a lot.

As long as the gay athletes do not kiss each other outside the Olympic village then they do not have to worry about that.

Ruin the lives? Good god, the drama from this one.

Obviously you don't understand how much an Olympiad puts into their preparation for the games. Most of these people have been training since they were children for this.

Earlier I mentioned the two Black athletes at Mexico city and how they were kicked out of the Country, with their medals. Leave the politics, religion and sexual preference at home.

It doesn't matter if it has an affect, it matters that we stand up for what we believe in. That's true in all adult life.

GOD, haven't you heard the expression " You have to choose your battles?" This boycotting for protesting the law against gay affection is not a battle worthy of attention. And while one must make some stand it must be effective toward accievieng a goal.

I'm sorry, especially for them, but it doesn't factor into the decision. It truly doesn't matter.

It most certainly matters a lot more than if gay people can express affection in public in Russia or not.

Many battles are fought that actually lose ground. It's the war that matters and in this case it really doesn't matter who wins this battle for the lines have to be drawn. Russia has drawn a line, now it's our turn.

Frankly, their opinion doesn't matter. We hope that they can do what they've worked to do but it isn't their call. If it was they would be playing their national anthem not ours.

WRONG, their opinion is of principal concern. Before any President does anything like this he should have to listen to those who have the most to lose. If Carter would have done that he might have changed his mind (but I doubt it.)
