No worries. I hate beer.

Yeah, I am the same way when it comes to beer.

Although I have drank shots of Whiskey in a Beer.

The real way we show them is to whip everybody's tail, like usual, and lead in the medal count.

Why punish the athletes over a stupid political agenda? Olympic boycotts are bull****.

If ya want to boycott something.....Lets get that Crap Ribbon Dancin" out of there as a Sports. Also Synchronized Swimming.....and no future Bocce Ball or Darts. :2razz:

they have no olympic spirit

We have a major political party that is thoroughly homophobic, so let's not be hypocritical ... as long as our athletes who are gay can compete, no boycott .... if they say they can't, then boycott ...

Let's take in assumption that your athletes who are gay cannot compete.
Are you going to remove the right to compete to your non-gay athletes with a boycott ?!

Absolutely. In fact, if we don't boycott under those circumstances, I hope that many of our athletes, and athletes from other countries, will refuse to go. What if it was South Africa during Apartheid and black athletes were prohibited from competing. Boycott or no boycott?

South Africa does not have a nuclear arsenal the size of Russia's though.

It's another case a boycott and another case if single athletes personally refuse to go.
Assume you are an athlete. Why should your govern remove your right to perform for reasons that has nothing to do with you. It is a sport, but it is totally personal. You present a state but you fight for your own name at 1st.

However, the athletes goes to Russia with the status of the athlete. There is nothing to worry about.

To my understanding gay athletes may compete. They just can't smooch people of the same sex in public, participate in gay rights demostrations, etc. while in Russia.

Even the NFL prohibits heterosexual encounters the weekends of games.

yea, I know that law very well. That's why i was taking in assumption.

The Olympics is a sporting competition. Politics should not be involved. It was hosted fine in China wasn't it?

the rights and dreams of the athletes should not be sacrificed so a bunch of lefties can feel good about making a "statement" in favor of gays.

I fully support the equality of gays, but I feel that a boycott would be silly and ineffective.

The publicity that is happening right now is plenty to bring attention to the issue and put pressure on the Russian government.

I always thought they were part of a team ... then there's the matter of standing up for something ...

I am not saying South Africa does not have nukes, I don't know much about South Africa, but I do know that the United States and Russia have the largest nuclear arsanals.

are you saying that if we boycott the Russians will nuke us?

IF the athletes all choose to boycott in order to make a few male figure skaters feel better, than that is one thing. Telling the skiers, bobsledders, biathlon athletes and speed skaters they cannot go because the government wants to pander to gay voters-now that is wrong

Let me make it simpler.

For example:
You are an US athlete. You made a couple of years of hard training. You are 20 people who present USA. You have 2 american gay athlete.
Now, why should 18 others or you personally be banned from this competition for which you fight so much to be part of.
Will you personally burn those 2 years of hard training for something you just believe and it has nothing to do with you.

Of course everyone is part of a team. But you sweat there for yourself at 1st.

Even on soccer/basketball teams which are totally a work in group, everyone fight for their name to be in top.
Are the individuals skills and will which are gathered to create the work in group.

you're a real homophobe, aren't you? A "few" figure skaters, but not skiers, bobsledders? What if they said no Christians? Ya still O.K. with Muslims, Jews, and agnostics and atheists going?

No, it really wasn't. There were massive demonstrations against the Chinese olympics. All of which were suppressed by the so called "liberal" MSM.

sorry coin, we don't see this (and the world I suspect) the same way ... as the old saying goes, there's no "i" in team ...

gotta board a plane ... take care ... I don't think the boycott will happen ... it'll get worked out ...
