I'm guessing a fundamental lack of curiosity, or perhaps he feels the subject has been made too much of already, is the most likely explanation for his peculiar lack of interest in this topic.

:rofl This is so awesome. I regret I have but one like to give to it.

I'll go clear a space for your thread.

Indeed. I'm sure we'll be seeing it soon. :)

As for the poll, I'm not religious so this poll is not for me.

When Atheists are included in a religious poll, Agnostics should have been as well and would probably end up at the top given the demographics I've seen at DP...

You apparently didn't read anything I just said. Pretty much 100% of agnostics are also atheists, by definition.

Just choose atheist either way you go to hell

You be sure to let us know when you have any actual evidence for any of the nonsense in your book of primitive mythology, won't you?

I am Roman Catholic.

I'm just a guy who thinks more people should follow the teachings of Jesus, including me.

I don't know what that makes me.

I am a Time Lord.

The last one, actually.

Where is Agnostic?

It's an irrelevant option on the poll, virtually all self-professed agnostics are actually atheists who don't understand what the terminology means.

As a born and bred Atheist all I can say is
non-believers FTW

"Agnostic" either means some mystical conviction that there things unknowable in principle, or it means nothing. I see no evidence of gods existing, so they are not a part of my worldview, and I am an a-theist. I do not know for sure that gods do not exist. How can I - or anybody, considering that we don't even know what to look for? All atheists are then "agnostics" (or else inverted religious fanatics who believe that there no gods, based on nothing).

There are plenty of atheists who actively proclaim that a god does not exist, and/or maintain that a belief in a god is irrational. Consequently, there are religious people who maintain that a god must exist, and lack of belief in one is irrational (see Anselm).

From a epistemological standpoint, skepticism is always the "natural" position. After all, any method of knowledge gathering is fundamentally open to doubt. A very materialistic view of the universe may claim that a god is less knowable then other things, but it's a matter of the facilitates which we follow. Of course if you see the 5 senses as the only gateway to truth (a rather broad leap of faith to even trust those with any certainty), then the question of god becomes impossible to answer. However, there are other transcendent sources one can look to in order to find the answer, such as reason, or even just blind faith because, just like we MUST trust our senses in order to operate in the physical world, some feel they MUST trust in their faith because a life without it is not worth living.

Per the OP's question, I answered atheist because it's the most technically accurate of the choices given.

I'm wondering what religion everyone is

Good to see you decided to not include Christian Orthodox, which is, along with Catholicism, the first 2 branches of Christianity after the Schism. But you included LDS, which I can only imagine it means latter-day saints, which is a cult.

I will boycott this thread that is clearly stupid and ill-represented.

Boycotting threads that are clearly stupid and ill-represented would make most of the internet off-limits to you.

It is quite possible that mankind's salvation lies with an ever increasing proportion of the worlds population becoming Atheist
believing in hobgoblins, elves & Santa might have had some justification
in primitive times but these days its just downright embarrassing doncha think?
