I see the white part of the image as the object first in all of them. But I can see the other image easily, at will. Except the last one. I only saw the young woman, and it took quite a concerted effort to pick out the old woman.

ln Gestalt psychology the figure ground perception is a term used to refer to our tendency to distinguish between the background and the object in our visual field .the human perceptual capacity seperates the elements into either figure or ground elements.our perception of visual stimulus may change if the figure ground relationship isnt presented in a specific way .

what you see in these visuals may change according to how you differentiate the items you organize in your visual perception

decide which parts of these images seem to be the figure and the ground of the composition

I've always been confused about exactly what we're supposed to get out of an exercise like this. What is it supposed to mean if someone sees one of the images one way or another first or has difficulty distinguishing one aspect of the image?

as far as l know if you see the black part as figure it may give a clue about your level of sensitiveness to different stimuli

I see the chess piece picture as chess pieces. I see the figures but the chess pieces always look real.

I can not flip the last one. I can't find the old crone and I have seen the picture before and know that when
I do see her it will be difficult to flip back to the girl.

Am I stark ravin' bonkers?

depends on who looks at it
Yup. I was kidding. I seem to have no problem distinguishing the two possible pictures, like many others here. I don't know what that means. I would be interested in someone who may see more than two.

I see dead people
