It's kind of odd, but nearly all the men I find most attractive have brown eyes. I love a dark-eyed man! Go figure!

Tall, dark and handsome!

That would be: Me, me, and me!

But my preferred eye color is blue, sky blue, or light blue. Some kinda blue, but...

Absolutely! I go for dark hair, dark skin, dark eyes... yum! *sigh* But I married a blue-eyed, blond German. Life is sometimes not fair, lol!!

I married a green eyed beauty instead. Not complaining, just saying.

Half bottle of vodka does that.

Perhaps but I was thinking more like emotionally driven "at will" color change. See TGND has a blue stroke encircling her iris when she is pissed. That is a dead give away that she is about to dome you.

In the same manner I thought perhaps others can turn their iris, a circle around their iris, or the whole freaking eye red at will but emotionally driven. Basically vamp red at will thursty for blood! Mwuhahahahahaa!

Yeap! :)

Some do use their real avatar. Since it was an eye thought perhaps Josie used her real eye there.

l would just say " thank you!"

A darker shade of blue.

So what eye color does the DP population have. I shall create a poll vote for both men and women.

Oh. If the option doesn't appear there, used the mixed one. And if you have Light Blue, go for Blue... and you know, the most aproximate one.

Blue, but not a light blue.

BTW, do you know if brown/black and blue eyes are inherited in a strictly dominant-recessive way?

Well, there's a whole lot of mumbo jumbo scientifically about eye color inheritance, and while the common consensus is that brown tends to be a more dominant eye color, it's not really true. As in, it doesn't always go that way. It's a game of %.

So lets say you have blue, your spouse has blue, 100% chance your kids are going to have blue eyes.
You have blue, your spouse has brown... it's sort of a 50-50 or 40-60... but there is no absolute. Your kids can inherit your eyes. It's just a numbers game with a ton of variables that we don't really understand.

For instance, my mom has brown eyes and my dad had green eyes. Both my brother and I have green eyes.

Now there are some issues regarding race because eye color is dependant on melanin which darkens the skin and the eye color. That's why in African/asian and to some degree, ME populations, the dominant eye color by a long shot is brown/dark where as in European/Caucasians, it's pretty variant.

At least that's what I know.

Thanks for the info!

My parents both have blue eyes, so I had to have blue eyes too. As for my mother's parents, her mother had brown eyes and her father blue ... so if it was strictly dominant-recessive, it means her mother had a recessive gene for blue eyes, so her kids had a 50% chance of blue eyes vs. brown. Hm. But among her and her five siblings, five have/had blue eyes...

Yeah. Well the truth is that until we map every single genome in our DNA, with all possible and impossible mutations and all the inheritance rules picked up and consolidated, this is magic. Worst thing is, maybe there are no rules. Maybe it's all just dumb luck. Or maybe the rules change for each person.

It is fascinating stuff though :).

My eyes are brown.

My children had the most beautiful colored eyes when they were born. One had deep blue eyes, the other had dark grey. They changed to hazel for one and brown for the other before their first birthdays.

I don't have a preference. As a matter of fact, things like eye color and hair color are meaningless to me. I'm more interested in the person. Hair color and eye color just don't do it for me. :) Of course, I can admire someone's eyes when they have beautiful eyes, but IMO beautiful eyes can come in any color.

when I was a kid, my eyes were almost black. now they're dark brown with flecks of gold.

it's a crap shoot. I have dark brown eyes, my wife has green eyes. our oldest son has brown eyes and our daughter has grey/blue eyes. (both of her grandfathers had blue eyes)

That is interesting that you made that connection, CJ. I never thought of it before, but my eyes are blue, and that is my favorite color!

I don't think there is anything to it, myself.

My eyes are Cyan Subtractive Primary (hex triplet 00B7EB), yet my favorite color is Cyan Addictive Secondary (hex triplet 00FFFF)

Greetings, Gardener. :2wave:

So instead of having me look up what those words mean, since I was too curious not to, couldn't you have just mentioned that your eyes are blue-green, and you like the colors magenta and yellow? Slow day, huh? Sheesh! :lamo
