Honestly, it seams like a stupid diversion by the right (and I still consider myself on the right) to me. Like when everyone on the left was screaming about when Mitt Romney put his dog on his car.
 
**** like this pisses me off so bad. There are a million very serious reasons to hate this guy, why the hell should anybody make stupid stuff like this up?

On this you and I completely agree. I couldn't care less if a Marine holds an umbrella for the president, any president. Total mountain out of an ant (not even a mole) hill.

Trivial Item Number 4017 that every president does but OBAMA BAD RAARGH

i asked a marine buddy of mine about it, asked if holding Obamas umbrella would upset him. His response:

"I have a ****ing ocean of actual bull**** to deal with, why the **** would I care about holding a goddamn umbrella?"

I'm not bothered by it, but I do see it as a total waste of time.

There are a lot of more important things that we could be talking about, but here we are.

I am going to guess that a lot of Marines would rather hold an umbrella for Obama (Or anyone.) than be in Afghanistan getting shot at.
 
This might become umbrella-gate if and when someone gets a pic of a marine holding up a golf umbrella over Obama as he lines up a putt in the rain. May be hard to get that pic, however, since Obama's golf forays appear to be well hidden from public eyes.

The Boy is just Crying Wolf one more time. At this point few people really care except the rabid fanatics that would vote Republican even if they put a rapist and murderer on the ballet. Again, the Republicans shoot themselves in the foot.


Besides, doesn't Obama actually shake hands and talk conversationally with his Marine escort instead of only treating them like hired body guards?

Government is not a business and shouldn't be treated as such. Efficiency is something all organisations have in common but the focus in government is different than that of private industry.
