Impeachable Offense

Is denying Americans the right to life without due process an impeachable offense?

Then have a quick tribunal to declare them enemies. Something about freedom of association and all those other inconveniences.

Possible I guess. But I think if you go to work for AQ with the idea of bring death and destruction to the United States and those who live in her, you're free game, citizen or not.

If you are OK with 1 person deciding that without any "due process", then that is your call, but I'd prefer a larger group. I don't believe that 1 person should be judge, jury and executioner.
 
It absolutely is an impeachable offense. It directly violates the 5th Amendment to our Constitution.

A president takes an oath to office to protect and preserve the Constitution of the United States. If he violates that oath in any way...it is an impeachable offense.

I guess I am. But I always wonder if this group that is so riled up over an American Citizen working with AQ and planning the death of other Americans in a foreign country were arrest was impossible over him not having his right to a trial. What if this particular agent of AQ was successful in bringing down another airplane, detonating a bomb or blowing himself up in a mall some place.

I would wager most of these same people so concerned about this one American traitors rights would be demanding to know why he wasn't taken out when we had him in our sights. Their tune would change 180 degrees.

I read the other day where approximately 30% of all those who have been released were seen again on the battlefield. The people who are demanding their release will not have to face them again on the battlefield. To so many of the younger generations, war is a video game. They have volunteers who put their lives in harms way for them. I don't know, I just don't know.

What has happened that the younger generation treats war as just another adventure game in their lives? :eek: Isn't history being taught in the schools any longer? :shock:

There are few things that make me sadder than seeing the cemeteries around the world with white crosses as far as the eye can see. :boohoo:

Very true, but as time goes by, history gets revised to reflect the political philosophy of those writing the text books.

No one should be allowed to embellish history. I remember when I found out what REALLY happened on Thanksgiving. After all those years of being taught something completely different in school and by my textbooks. I was pretty disappointed with our education system to say the least.

I get you. There is a lot of history that was changed since I was in school. Sometimes the change reflects new information found and enhances history or the event in history. Then other times the changes are done to reflect the writers view of the event.

It was big in the late 60's and 70's and was basically a paperback tome of ahistorical spewation.......................

I have always been big on history, probably 3/4th of my book collections deal with history or bio's. but one can't read every book.
