The existence of religion in the public square is the subject of a pending court case, but nice strawman since we were discussing atheism and government.

No, it's really not, it's just one more attempt by the delusional to get their delusion taught as fact in the public sphere. Every single case where that's gone before the courts, the religious have lost, as well they should.

It wasn't a strawman though, the United States has a constitutionally-determined secular government. It doesn't matter what you believe, the government under which you live cannot recognize that belief officially, nor can it make laws based upon your belief.

That's a good thing.

No, but there are many people in this country that would

I like my government to be secular. I'm aware of the problems that a theocracy can cause.

No way in Hell would I support a One World Government, or an Islamic government. If Muslims want to have Islamic governments, they are welcome to do so-- as long as they do so well away from where I live.

One pattern we tend to see is once growth of the population occurs within another country either through immigration, outpacing the birthrates of the other citizens or both; they eventually become the overwhelming majority then take steps toward secession and independence of their region. Not everywhere but in many places. Can't complain, its democracy and self-determination in action.

The accuracy of this is suspect.

they are the same people that would rather sit at home than work and contribute toward the country benefit

I think people are hung up on "Under Islam" i have nothing against Islam. I only have a problem with this One World crap.

Why do polls like this exists?

Of course not. I don't even want a one world government, to begin with.

Um...trust fund kids?

welfare recipients and extended unemployment recipients

So...what, people who've been laid off are converting to Islam? I don't get it.

'Cause I know people who are out of work, and they haven't said a damn word about Islam.

People that are content to live off of a handout don't care what leadership we have as long as that handout is available

Are you saying that people who've been laid off don't want to work...and want to live under Islam?

You are have been out for more than 6 months you are truly interested in working

I take it you're not a woman.

I missed the poll feature somehow. Sorry about that.
Not since a corollary of an Islamic theocracy would be Sharia Law.

No, I think not.

I wouldn't support a world government of any kind at this time. Once we have permanent martian and moon colonies and mining outposts in the asteroids belt then maybe. For now, we're not ready for any kind of world government and I sure don't want it to be any kind of theocracy. Religion creates enough problems even when it's not the government.

Does this question really need to be asked?
Mark Steyn once alluded to the notion that liberals, in general, wouldn't really care if the world were ruled by Islam. Those weren't his exact words, but that was the general idea. I wanted to test his theory.

Why would it be Islamic rule?
Because Islam is growing at an astonishing rate, and parts of it are aggressively seeking converts. It only makes sense that Islam would be more than happy to accept this mantle.
