LOL - I didn't respond to the poll, dumpkin. ;)

There are like - a small handful of women active daily on this forum, you know.

It's tempting to post this on another forum that's more populated - flesh out the poll options - and see what they say.

NO! It's my poll dammit and I demand a response from liberal women on this freaking issue. They are purposely giving me the cold shoulder in an attempt to make my blood pressure hit new record levels and stroke me out and I AM PISSED ABOUT IT!!!!:)

Thank you and I don't mean to be pushy but what is the con narrative you most often hear. Really I'm interested in this.

That single women vote democratic because they are the ones who want unlimited abortion access.

As crude as it is, as a liberal women, it's what I hear most often.

I don't think the Republicans declared "war on women", I just don't think they understand the values of this newest generation of women. Republicans by their nature don't want to progress and change. That's fine, but the women who do, are never going to vote for them, for that reason.

Also, I have no idea where the barefoot and pregnant Republican women thing came from. I've never heard Republican women described like that.

It's general thought amongst liberal women.

I don't think that Republicans necessarily want to relive the Little House on the Prairie days, however.

Single women are more career focused and liberated from the bonds of the phallocentric institution of modern American marriage. Of course they are going to support the policy that supports women in the work place.

It is fact that single women tend to vote dem and for the life of me I can't figure out why. There must be a reason.

The majority of single women are young - young females veer towards liberalism these days.

For the same reason most women vote Democrat, they want the D.

So your theory is single women are vulnerable to myth.

EDIT: I would think Clinton's behavior with an intern in the white house would nullify that theory.

I think the Right lost the Lewinsky thing when it tried to portray Ms. Lewinsky as some innocent virgin. Innocent virgins everywhere agree: Innocent virgins don't allow themselves to masturbated with a cigar..................Think about it....................

I love that you can generalize the thought of liberal women, and presume to know their opinion, but devalue the other side's generalization. I find something ironic about that.

It has been 4 hours since I posted this question and not a single response. Single I think is the operative word here. Sometimes no response is more informative than a hundred answers. I think it's safe to assume that somewhere between most and all of the women obama voters in here are not married. The statistics IRL seem to be true in here too.

teh husbands of married ones are conservative :2razz:

So my own curiosity begs the question, why do you think that most single women vote Democratic?

I've already went over it. It's the same reasoning behind why, if the 1960 debates weren't televised, Nixon would've won by a landslide.

Very long poll. Was there somewhere in there that is asked if women were single or married?

Yes, quite a ways down. Married women voted for Romney by a vast or jam that in, single women to Obama by a large margin. Forget actual numbers and too lazy to look again.

No offense, but the question wasn't posed to you. I was interested the opinion of the person who posted the poll, sawyerloggingon.

Yes, but you're forgetting that everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Good evening, Bonz. :2wave:

The problem was not who was doing what to whom in the Oval Office. The fact that Clinton lied to the American people is what led to the impeachment proceedings. If memory serves me correctly, Senator Byrd had the deciding vote, and while he stated that he didn't agree with what Clinton had done, he didn't want his vote to be the one that would impeach any President, and he voted no. I don't recall Lewinsky ever being portrayed as a virgin.

Actually, he was impeached.

I don't blame him for lying though. You have to ask yourself - what are you more afraid of: Congress, or Hillary?

That's an easy answer for me.

I'm just saying it was a clear case of a man in a powerful positions having sex with a young intern and any CEO in America would have been fired for such behavior. It was the ultimate example of the boss chasing his secretary around the desk and should have repelled young working women but for some reason they loved it.

You are correct. He was impeached by the House of Representatives, but acquitted by the Senate. They didn't have the votes to remove him from office. Maybe that's when Byrd made the statement my faulty memory recalls? ......
