Are we witnessing the beginning of the end for obama?

I am no fan of obama but if he goes down we are left with Biden who is dumber of dumb and dumber so I am not rooting for obama's presidency to go up in smoke but I can't help but think he is in serious trouble. It has been one scandal after another and when he dodged the question today about when he knew what the IRS was doing alarms went off. If he is tied to this IRS thing he is done. So what do you think, does obama weather the storm or are we seeing another Nixon in the making?

Course the concept of what a storm is depends on the experience of the judge. I'd say those who have been lashed by wind and spray don't see a storm here, more like a right wing rant in a teapot.

Nixon wasn't hung for 'knowing' he was hung for actively attempting to cover it up and quite publicly hindering the investigation. Show the President has helped cover this up or if he fires anyone investigating it THEN you can drag Nixon out for a bit... :peace

Over this? No. For me a warning sign is whether or not he can get much through the legislature at all. Without his affirmation toward a policy, the term is largely done. That is, unless, he has some internal matters to settle. If you can't get legislation through, it would be sweet to have additional bureaucratic changes.

If he knew what they were doing and turned a blind eye he is gone. If he encouraged them to do what they were doing he is impeached.

I will stake my presence on DP that Obama has nothing to do with the IRS scandal.

If this has been closer to the end of the term I'd agree. 2016 is a long time from now and if the economy continues to improve it should be a slam dunk for another democrat in the White House in 2016.

I do think Obama will not get much else done, but what's left anyway? My only worry is if any Supreme Court justices retire, which is a real possibly; I'm thinking Ginsberg. He did everything he wanted in the first term, namely universal healthcare and getting the pump primed on electric automotive technology, both of which I support in a RINO kinda way. I do think healthcare reform needs tweaking however, but Obamacare is a start.

I have said it a hundred times, he will nominate Hillary to replace Ginsberg.

As for Joe:

I never ever mentioned the word of impeachment. But common sense will tell you that the president is having a hard time over the last week or too. Storm is probably the right word. Read my post number 2, then I think you will understand.
Impeachment doesn't mean removal from office anyway, the Senate would vote on removal. President Clinton was impeached, but the Senate acquitted him. President Nixon quit because it was likely he would have been removed from office and lose the perks ex-presidents get.

If he knew what they were doing? As of what is currently known, this issue had already been brought up before within the IRS and a direct order was given for it to cease. So why would it even make it up to Obama? And even if it did, why would it be more than a water cooler conversation?

Adviser: Hey, did you hear what happened in the IRS?
Obama: No, what?
Adviser: Caught a few guys discriminating against right wing groups.
Obama: Well, tell them to cut that **** out. Now, on to the healthcare bill how's that going?

You're grasping at straws here buddy.

The question in these situations is always the same, "What did he know, when did he know it".

Na. Obama is gonna be fine...

Bro, even if he knew, there's still little had to do about it. It's a matter that should have been handled by the IRS and for all intended purposes, it was being handled by the IRS.

I think there will be a fresh face at the top of the ticket for the Democrats in 2016, not Clinton or Biden. I also do not think it will be a slam dunk. The Republicans did the Dems a favor last year in nominating Romney, but looking over the field, I guess they really didn't have much of a choice although they tried to find someone else. The GOP's best chances of unseating Obama decided to stay out of the race.

I can think of 3 or 4 candidates for the GOP that could win. Remember in 2016 there will be no advantage of being an incumbent. That is if they throw their hat in and can get by the primaries.

Thats fine and I agree with you but that is not what your previous post said. You said he has done nothing wrong which of course is impossible to know and proves your bias. With all the lies and deceit that he has been part of I think there is a very good chance he has indeed done something very wrong but I like you will require solid evidence.

I said he has done nothing wrong, because there is no evidence to suggest that he has. That's not bias. Presuming that he probably has done something wrong, or there's a good chance he has done something IS bias.

It's ludicrous to say I am biased toward Obama. I have said from the beginning that he was an unqualified empty suit, and people would regret the day they put him in office. I don't think he's a bad person; I think he's an overly ambitious person who had his eye on the WH from the beginning of his "career" in public service. So yeah, he has shown his inexperience, surrounded himself with inexperience, throw in a dozen global crises, the collapse of several ME governments, and various domestic/international ****storms that even an experienced leader would struggle with, and we end up with a mediocre president who is doing the best he can in a job that, according to his gray hair, he realized immediately was beyond him.

So thanks, GOP, for giving us Mitt Romney as an alternative. Yeah... that was sarcasm.

Nixon quit because he felt shame and was disgraced.

Your unadulterated belief in and infatuation with obama is noted.

Nope. It's just that the more I look into the scandal, the more I understand it. I invite you to do the same.

The bold part was not in your original post but your edit means I am getting through to you.:)

I have learned to listen to your possibilities. Will you start another blog for 2014 elections?

Nixon quit because he felt shame and was disgraced.

Nixon quit because he realized his devious love of secretly tape recording everything was a double-edged sword. He wasn't ashamed. "I am not a crook!" He was pissed he got caught because of his own big mouth.

Goldwater was the one who talked Nixon into resigning. Nixon was adamant about staying and fighting, I do not know what Goldwater told him outside that he didn't have the votes in the senate, but Nixon agreed to resign after that meeting.

WTF are you talking about. I bolded the part of the post you quoted because I wanted you to read it. I haven't edited any of my posts here. And thanks for letting me know not to bother with complete explanations when dealing with you, as you clearly don't read what is written and prefer to select a snippet subject to your interpretation instead.

Yes, if the blogs work the same here as they did over on politico. If not, when I run my updates I'll send it to you. Until you can put names to candidates in the different states, predictions mean little.

According to Wikipedia: "The scandal escalated, costing Nixon much of his political support, and on August 9, 1974, he resigned in the face of almost certain impeachment and removal from office."

Post 13 DiAnna. I hope this refreshes your memory. Your pre edit version.

"He's not going anywhere. I'm not his biggest fan, never have been, but he has done absolutely nothing impeachable or illegal, despite what the right-wing extremists would like us to believe. "

Only if you believe FauxNews and the right-wing wacko propaganda. Then again....they are the same ones that told their sheep that all the polls were wrong and the Romney was going to win in a landslide. When are these people going to realize......
