I don't understand the sympathy for the "rebels" in Syria. We know they are heavily infilitrated with factions of al Queda (al Queda owes its' birthright to the CIA) and now they have used poison gas. The CIA has been funneling money to these al Queda tainted rebels. Morons. Didn't we learn anything in Iraq. Energy Corporations are making big money from Iraq's OIL, and USA taxpayers have footed the bill. Maybe the Big Energy players are gonna give us a discount. When pigs fly.

Here we go again. It looks like the Propaganda Ministry has run this data through several levels of obfuscation, adjustment, and manipulation and inserted through Intelligence Agency linked Mass Media a story that should promote Corporate Welfare to the Military/Industrial Complex in another OIL country. Just like being on a Merry-Go-Round.

US offers Syrian rebels 'military support,' alleges Assad used chemical weapons - NBC Politics

"Some U.S. officials have also expressed concern that arms supplied to rebels could fall into the hands of fighters who could eventually pivot to use those very arms against U.S. interests or allies.

And then there is the issue of scarce political appetite among most Americans for increased military involvement in Syria following more than a decade of war in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Just 15 percent of Americans said in June's NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll that they favor U.S. military action in Syria; only 11 percent want to provide arms to the opposition. A plurality of respondents -- 42 percent -- prefer to provide only humanitarian assistance, and 24 percent believe the U.S. shouldn't take any action.

Somebody come prove me wrong. I am saying Obama's claims of the Syrian gov't using WMD have the same basis in fact as GWBush's, the first incompetent, claims of WMD in Iraq. I don't perceive Assad to be a bad guy, and I don't know why we are interested in Syria. Looked like Syria was doing fine until we financed some terrorists to stir crap. Talk to me. Prove what an idiot I am. C'mon.

I voted no.

I do not now, nor have I ever believed that the U.S.A. needs to act like the world's policeman.

That does not mean I am an "Isolationist." It just means that we should carefully consider and then make valid alliances with responsible foreign powers. Then and only then actively defend our allies just as we would expect them to honor an alliance and defend us.

Other than that, each society is responsible for their own future. Leave them to it. Works for Canada, see anyone who hates Canadians? :)

The Media says the weapons are on the way to the rebels and our special forces are training them in Jordan. Wow, I missed the most important commercial stroke of genius involved in this decision. I mean, think about it. We, the USA, are the largest arms dealer in the World. These rebels will put these weapons to work all over, and the people they are trying to kill will buy lots more weapons to repel them. This is a jobs program for the Military/Industrial Complex. Who'd a thunk it? Keeeerisssst, if you ain't got a war, gin one up. War is good business and business is good.

For the second time the rebels have been caught using chemical weapons. Isn't it time we attacked and killed those rebels. The red line has been crossed, but the Administration doesn't recognize the red line when the real "bad guys", the rebels are caught. This is in addition to the chemical gas attack that initiated this thread. It is the scum sucking weasels, sponsored by the CIA, that are the bad guys.

Syrian rebels manufactured chemical weapons outside Damascus - News - World - The Voice of Russia: News, Breaking news, Politics, Economics, Business, Russia, International current events, Expert opinion, podcasts, Video
"The Syrian military found chemical weapons in a rebel tunnel in the Jobar suburb of Damascus. Later Syrian state TV showed the poisonous agents and medical drugs.

Journalist Yara Saleh, of the Al-Ihbariya Syrian information channel, provided The Voice of Russia with more details about this discovery.

“The rebels launched two missiles filled with poisonous gas in the Jobar neighbourhood which caused Syrian soldiers’ nausea and asphyxia.

Some time later when the Syrian army managed to take that suburb by storm they found the warehouse and laboratory where shells were stored and stuffed with poisonous agents. Boxes with new gas masks were also found, they carried labels ‘Made in US’. The fact that the rebels did not use those gas masks proves that they had not been attacked with any poisonous gases.

Two glass vessels with labels ‘Made in Saudi Arabia’ were also found there. Weapons and explosives made in Saudi Arabia were found in Syria in the past as well. Experts will determine the contents of those vessels.

In addition, they found plastic vessels containing unidentified chemicals, some strange white powder and a lot of various explosives and munitions."
