I would say people, but then I'd have to put MLK in here and he would obviously win? Sorry if you choices are incomplete in your opinion. Please feel free to name presidents outside of choices in poll. I personally say JFK.

I cannot recall of hearing of any Ike speech other than the military-industrial complex thing.

I had an old cassette tape with speeches from different presidents. From listening to them I would say FDR, but he was a couple of years before my time. He had the ability to connect with the people and give them hope during a time when there really was little hope to give.

Reagan had that same ability. You mentioning of JFK, he was good too. The problem with JFK is his life and his presidency was cut way too short. Clinton could connect, perhaps not as good as FDR or Reagan, but he also could move people. Billy boy could say, "I feel your pain," and darn if we didn't think he could.

So I would FDR at number 1, Reagan 2, Clinton 3 and JFK 4. All the rest from FDR to Obama do not belong on the same playing field as these 4.

I know. I think about what might have been different if he hadn't been assassinated.

Unfortunately yes. Though I'm a millennial and I favor JFK so it's not always that way.

I am sure the landscape would be entirely different, but I am not sure how. The hope and promise of a better future, a better American was wiped out that day in Dallas. A vast potential of what might been ended before it really got started. One can speculate and that is all one can do.

Yeah, it's truly a shame. Him and RFK are how politicians should be.

Yeah, what a waste. You know I never looked at them and I am including Eisenhower, Everitt Dirksen, rayburn, McCormick and Albert as politicians. They were elected leaders.
