This is another example of your poor ability to read and debate.

Shame on me? Shame on YOU. YOU are the one who takes what you are told and believes it without researching the scriptures and figuring out the meaning of the religion for yourself. That is the #1 reason why Im agnostic, I can't find any "religion" that I tend to agree with when it comes to how to interpret the scriptures.

But, you continue to live your life and hold onto beliefs only "because the church said so", and I'll continued to read, study and determine my own feelings on religion.

So Jesus would have remained neutral during the Holocaust? Jesus supported the crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and the forced conversion of Native Americans? Jesus supported the suppression of Galileo and Charles Darwin? Did Jesus support indulgences? How about executing people for witchcraft? Since you've chosen to claim the role of Jesus' spokesperson on earth (despite never having read the Bible), perhaps you can clarify Jesus' opinion on bearing false witness.

How dare you libel a great man by associating him with a corrupt bureaucracy like the Catholic Church.

I don't care what anyone says, you cannot be a Christian and be pro-abortion. It's illogical. Anyone who says otherwise must've had brownies for breakfast instead of oatmeal.....

That's all well and good, if you want to worship the Catholic Church, go for it. But most Christians (including most Catholics) regard the teachings of Jesus - not church doctrine - as the supreme truth.

Perhaps you should read what Jesus had to say before you run your mouth on subjects you know nothing about.

It doesnt deter from the fact that a sizable population within christians see the churchs statements concerning certain issues as the law. Weren't they the ones condemming the usage of condoms?

PS : sorry it took me so long to awnser been busy with wifey. :)

Everyone on Earth sins, and every sin can be forgiven by Christ. :) I know it's warped for Christians to want to kill unborn babies, but as was said, there's nothing in the Bible about Abortion so I can't say how He feels about it... But it doesn't say "All sins except Abortion will be forgiven"...

Yes they are but I expect the only people that are voting no are our friends from the left who are offended by Christians or have disdain for them......

That is because abortion was almost non existent in those days........In fact abortions were very rare before 1972 and Roe V Wade........

So...in essence, anyone can call themselves a Christian and be Pro-Choice. This makes perfect sense to me. Taking in Jesus as your savior makes you a christian...period, this is the definition of a Christian. Allowing others to decide for themselves how they lead their own lives can be viewed as not judging them, and also be considered a very Christian value. There is no mention of abortion in any of the four versions of the bibles I have read....and in fact only one vague reference I can find in any Holy scripture.....which is one of the Vedas and has nothing to do with Christianity.


In this reference we do see that God has a hand in making babies:
"For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for Thou art fearfully wonderful (later texts were changed to read "for I am fearfully and wonderfully made"); wonderful are Thy works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from Thee, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them."

Psalm 139:13-16

But there is no mention of terminating this handywork at all.

So we often see this line to support the fact that God knows every fetus, and would not allow them to be killed:

" Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee"

Which is beautiful and touching on its own...Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, and protective of that little ball O' cells. Unfortunately, as usual its not in the context God meant it to be in, the full scripture is somewhat less....Cozy:

" Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant."

Jeremiah 1:4-10

Seems 'Ol Jerry was something special, and God had a few plans awaiting him after birth. Guy was a bit like Mohammad when it comes down to it.


So I am sure...in my limited understanding of Christanity and Scripture, I have merely Skipped Over the parts that talk about abortion, and am asking those more...enlightened by the Christ to show me what I'm Missing.

So if the Church's beliefs = Christ's, and they're fallible, could Christ have been wrong?

One way or the other, infallible and hypocritical, or wrong.

That's not what you said. You said Jesus' beliefs and the Catholic Church's beliefs were one and the same. Well, those things I listed were the beliefs of the Catholic Church.

So did Jesus support those beliefs? Yes or no.

Umm no. They've been commonplace for millennia. I see that your knowledge of history is almost as complete as your knowledge of the Bible. :lol:
 
Killing babies for sexual convenience is not compatible with the Bible's teachings or with the most fundamental precepts of Christianity. Humans are supposed to accept God's will, not frivolously play God with the lives of innocents.

Now I have to very much agree with this, so... I don't know if those who really accepted Christ as their savior - and only God and that person would know for certain - would actually WANT to abort babies at the drop of a hat (actually when I first answered, I was thinking extreme circumstances where the mother was sure to die) but yhe people who did abortions could always come to Christ when they were ready, and I at least hope they would quit using it as birth control...

You know although I am a practicing Catholic I am not a good one and am not really comfortable arguing religion.........I am a person of faith though and believe the precepts of Jesus Christ as taught to me by the Roman Catholic Church can never be wrong..........

Now I have a question for you......Why do you insist on identyfying yourself as slightly Conservative when you are one of the biggest Liberals in this forum..........:confused: Just curious.......

Lets put it this way.........The Roman Catholic Church follows the Precepts of Jesus Christ.......

Attack me again huh.........Nope your wrong Abortions are much more prevelent such Roe V Wade was enacted in 1972........Hopefully we can get rid of that murderous law shortly........
