I didn't recall I have a duty to answer questions.

It helps the discussion if you do. But I was just checking. I think he got you, and you resorted to yeah but. So, now I know for sure. :peace :2wave:

so your point is what? you love Obama? you feel a need to support posters I disagree with because I don't agree with your anti gun, pro Obama posts?

which is all pretty obvious to a rational person.

wrong-the government's response has to be both constitutional and a narrowly tailored attempt to actually address a real problem

the Obama demands meet neither test

What didn't you follow? He beat you on the point. That's all. You had no coherent rebuttal. It's a simple point. :2wave:

Wow....you call THAT a temper tantrum? LOL. Actually, I think most Americans would disagree. The American people are clearly with the President on this one. So keep up your hysterics, it only makes the gun nuts and the NRA look all that more stupid to the vast majority of Americans.

That's nothing more than a leftwing lie. The leftwing polls also lied. The Senate vote tells the story, nobody wants your draconian background check.

LOL....Wrong.....The American people back the President by 90% on this issue. The gun nuts and Republicans are clearly showing how out of touch with most Americans they are...that cannot help their cause in the long run.

Here in USA Today:

WASHINGTON -- Four months after the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School, a USA TODAY Poll finds support for a new gun-control law ebbing as prospects for passage on Capitol Hill seem to fade.

Americans are more narrowly divided on the issue than in recent months, and backing for a bill has slipped below 50%, the poll finds. By 49%-45%, those surveyed favor Congress passing a new gun-control law. In an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll in early April, 55% had backed a stricter gun law, which was down from 61% in February.

The survey of 1,002 adults was taken Thursday through Sunday by Princeton Survey Research. The margin of error is +/- 4 percentage points.

In Georgia I have never seen support for new gun control laws. With the passage of time, gun control laws are once again coming out of favor, that is outside the northeast and perhaps the west coast and a few big cities.

I suspect you would say that no matter what the facts are.

People like you said the same thing to me in the fall of 1994 when the clinton gun ban caused the cost of the 24 round competition magazines I used in OPEN IPSC to go from 35 to 150 dollars

you all sure got your asses handed to you that november in the midterm elections

I suspect you would say that no matter what the facts are.

Your the one who left is point and didn't address it. That leaves a clear inescapable conclusion.

People, in most polls I have seen, want the emphasis to be put on jobs and the economy! Most of the people I have discussed this with seem to wonder why the spotlight is not on enforcing the laws we already have, instead of adding more laws, since it is criminals or mental defectives, and not law-abiding people, who are killing others! Good question, IMO!

Indeed it is, the people of Georgia are scratching their heads wondering the same thing.

It didn't pass, plain and simple.

Sorry but that is the most irrational statement - so I can see how you missed TD's point.

not really ... its irrational to think that because I live in a safer country I live in a disarmed nanny state

It's an observation. There was nothing more to say about it.

No, he had a discussion he was involved in. When it tough he did a Fox punk move, and just made a stupid outrageous statement.

I really have no idea what you were trying to say but it is completely irresponsible and irrational to support gun control and gun free zones and think your grandson is safe at school.
disarmed nanny state I may live in according to you, but I prefer the freedom of not needing a gun, and knowing that my grandson is safe at school.

within the context of this thread, what I am saying is that I can be virtually 100% certain that my grandson will not be shot while he is at school.

I have not found stats on deaths while at school, and I know that there can be other causes, however these are generally pretty rare. There can be other injuries, but no gun related injuries.

the greatest risk is vehicle accidents on the way to or from school .... but our deaths per capita from motor vehicle accidents is also considerably less than in the US - 5.71 per capita compared to 12.3

That display was typical Chicago style caterwaul. I say this as a proud Chicagoan who detests the snarky "Chicago style thug politics" epithets thrown around so loosely by people who've never even stepped foot in my fair city.

He showed a lack of dignity and displayed no comportment whatsoever. One could even say he sounded spiteful and vindictive. He looked like a pimp preacher up there with his trix.

All in all I'd expect this type of behavior from my good old pal Hizzoner. He could pull it off and you know he had the chutzpah to make it sound convincing. Even that cheap fake tough guy whose sitting on the 5th floor now, I'd expect this from. What I don't expect, nor do I accept is that kind of tantrum from the President.

You lost, loser. Suck it up.

Actually, I was surprised that he would attempt to chastize Congress for his own political screw up. Moreover that he tried to sound tuff on the comeback while trying to defend his use and exploitation of those kids. That was the funny part. Him trying to describe what others were saying without using the Words Child Abuse.

Talk about a sore loser! Watch this video and decide for yourself does this guy look like a sober, mature president, a leader we can count on or does he look like a spoiled little boy you see in the grocery store throwing a fit because mommy refused to buy him something he really really wanted. This is our president?

I didn't watch that link but I did hear it on C-SPAN.

Just f'ing sickening.

Why are you trying to change the subject? Is it because you know that you are simply wrong?
