you think that if the NRA doesn't support bans on good people getting guns, they don't support bans on bad people getting guns

stop the obfuscation. the fact remains you pretend its about drug dealers and mexican gun lords

those people are not legally able to buy guns in the USA-indeed the drug lords get their guns from our government.

you don't support second amendment rights and I doubt you understand them

its better that 10 guilty go free than one innocent man hang

and its better 10 scumbags get guns (which they get anyway) than one innocent victim be disarmed and murdered or raped by some thug who doesn't obey the silly laws you want

I guess in some disarmed nanny state like the one you live in, you would have such a silly perspective. but guess what, your opinions matter not in our country and your perspective is one of being a subject, not a citizen. what bothers you most-that you are disarmed or that conservative MEN are armed in our country

disarmed nanny state I may live in according to you, but I prefer the freedom of not needing a gun, and knowing that my grandson is safe at school.

I didn't say it was normal. but I don't think it was a tantrum either. It was controlled anger - but the message was clear. for once he's not compromising in what he is saying.

don't complain about being called sweetie. you could be called worse.

I'm more worried about the spoiled children who are so paranoid and cynical about government and so fascinated by their little toys that they would kill any effort to better police and better monitor who's hands those toys fall into.

Well you see the government doesn't need to know when and if I buy something and I surely do not need to do a background check to make their little hearts feel better or permit them to deny me access because of rules they made up. Mental illness does NOT affect the rights someone has nor does being a felon in a free society, so excuse the hell out of me for saying FU to Obama and friends.

I'll stop you there, and take this as a moment to politely point out that after events like Virginia Tech, Columbine, and Sandy Hook...

Yeah, it actually seems like government might need to know who's purchasing what and where, if only to ensure that weapons aren't falling into the hands of those most ill equipped to handle them responsibly.

Good god, do you people actually ever answer something someone ask you?

With rights come responsibilities. The government also has a duty to protect the general public.

The government can and should intervene if they think you pose a credible danger to your fellow citizens.

I think that saying he looked like a spoiled child is quite a stretch. While I don't agree with the bill he wanted passed (because it wouldn't have done anything) I don't mind that it's a subject he's passionate about and lets it show.

I'm not sure how that follows. If rights come with responsibilities, which btw are personal, and the government has a duty to protect the general public then how exactly does that trump their duty to protect the rights of the people?
