That is a cops job, just as it is a soldiers job to kill the enemy. If it were someone I loved, I would hope they would rather deal with being raped and both of us live thru it, then me dieing trying to protect them.
It's a lot more than just a job. The "princely salary" hardly covers running straight into probable gunfire for the sake of a woman you'd never seen 5 seconds before... which I've done. It's a calling, a willingness to put yourself in harm's way to protect the innocent.
But it is even more than that... it wasn't too long ago that it was considered a duty every man should fulfill towards his loved ones, especially those less able to defend themselves.
You'd seriously let a man rape your little daughter rather than risk a bullet to try to save her? Or your mother?
I can't even talk to you about this anymore. I am too disgusted. I don't want to hear anything you have to say on the topics of crime, self-protection, or anything of the kind anymore, you have lost all credibility with this utterly self-centered misogynistic crap.
Nothing is worth dying for, huh? The Decline and Fall of the West, right here in little black letters.... gah. :doh
