Do you think someone from congress will step up the plate and request that they receive a pay cut? Or at least a pay freeze? I would love to see how a vote on that would look. I personally feel that the salary for all of them should be the mean or median salary of the American worker. Maybe that would give them some motivation.

Politicians don't get all that rich off the government dole. I'd imagine its slim recompense for the long hours, the hassle of dealing with so many assholes and the stress being in the public spotlight all the time.

No, politicians get rich through insider trading (which is entirely legal because they wrote the laws against insider trading) and by becoming lobbyists after their term is up. I'd rather we increase their pay, give them a nice severance package and rip their entrails out through their nostrils if they ever become a lobbyist.

They get a upper middle class salary off the congressional positions. Many of them are super rich and I doubt would hardly care about their salary.
