I am sick and tired of so-called conservatives and libertarians claiming that Democrats are better because they stick to their word about raising taxes. Well, if you think Democrats are better, why not go and join them? We don't need someone like you praising the other side!

Queue the hacks filling up this thread with nonsense all about how the 'other side' is nothing but a bunch of lying American hating morons.

OT: I trust each of them equally. That is to say, not a lot.

Neither one of them are worth what used to come out the back end of my horse.

I trust the Republicans to have the worst ideas, and the Democrats to have the best intentions but to enact them the most incompetently. It's quite a choice I tell ya.

Although Lew Black is probably closer to the mark: The only thing dumber than a Democrat or a Republican is when those pricks work together. You see, in our two-party system, the Democrats are the party of no ideas and the Republicans are the party of bad ideas. It usually goes something like this. A Republican will stand up in Congress and say, "I've got a really bad idea." And a Democrat will immediately jump to his feet and declare, "And I can make it ****tier."

Blah blah blah.

I don't trust either side of the Republocrat coin. Both are a bunch of liars out for their own power at the expense of the freedom and liberty of the People.

I dont trust and cant call myself either one, but I think the Democrats are less whacky than the Republicans.

They've all got special interests that they pander too before they attempt to care about the issues facing the American people. It all depends on which special interests you support and will defend. Both are in it for power.

I don't trust *ANY* politician, no matter what party they're from. We've set up a system whereby politicians have to become corrupt to survive.

None.

They no longer serve the people, they serve those who will line their pockets when they decide to 'retire' with full benefits. Then they become lobbyists, serving more special interests.

Please, shut me up now.

trust? neither of them. we have tried to boil down an extremely complex range of political views into two generically dull and entry-level political parties. the result has been a never ending soccer riot between rabid partisans, and we can't get anything done. it's idiotic.

A couple years ago, I would have agreed with you. But more and more, the Dems are the champions of censorship and internet lock-down. Albeit, a lot of these proposals have fairly bipartisan support -- in fact, it seems like censoring America is the only thing that does. But the Dems come out in bigger numbers, and they tend to be the ones making the proposals.

These days, I would say both of them have pretty terrible ideas and I don't trust either one to even act in good faith.

I think the Republicans are still more draconian than the Democrats, but the Democrats aren't exactly rising to the challenge, so their high ground is pretty low even there. They aren't fighting those things -- they just aren't endorsing them. And that's not good enough.

I'm a registered and active Green and I don't even trust the Greens, but they are still at least a 100 times more honest and straight than dems or repugs.

There is no party named the Democrat Party. It's the Democratic Party. If you call it the former, you flunk in grammar. By the same token, there's no country named the Unite States of America.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on pretty much all of the above. It's really sad that the Democrats have thoroughly gone awol on civil liberties these days, and the only one that Republicans care about is the goddamn 2nd amendment. I swear to God you could take away every single last one of their civil liberties but let 'em keep their guns and they're happy.

Although I say Republicans, both are bad. Worse than bad. Political parties don't get us anywhere. They just create arguments and divide a nation. Most people who belong to a party see their party like their favorite sports team. No matter what ideas the other side proposes, they think it is wrong just because it comes from the other side. I think we should support and elect people on what they believe, not their party.

9 people need to wake up and smell the roses.

Democratic, and Republican ideas are a complete list of yes, and no besides everything that isn't basic humanity 101. If i believe all cathlic beliefs except Jesus was real, am I catholic? No, now do i like or trust the catholic? No.

I find it impossible for anyone to naturally believe in all of one of any party's list of yes's or no's. They only believe enough of em to find a reason to believe the rest with the peer pressure that exists within the party.

It would fix so much, if people could find themselves, instead of parties finding a vote within em.

I had to dust off the old anti-drone defense system today, so I'm not really trusting either party right now. Well, they're politicians, not meant to be trusted.

If by trust more you mean which side is most likely to carry through with what they say they are going to do, then I would actually say the Republicans. But I am adamantly against most things they say they will do. Democrats, on the other hand, talk a good game but in the end they are just as much in bed with big money as the Republicans are.

Someone wise once said that government should fear the governed. Currently, Republicans fear the people. Democrats don't.
