Not saying anybody should do it, but killing you wouldn't destabilize the global political climate. No offense, but unless you're a major world leader or the head of the Illuminati, you're probably not very important. In any case threatening to kill anybody is still illegal.

I never heard of Nancy, Barb, or Hillary milking the position for all its worth. Well, toward the end Hillary wanted some china and curtains...maybe some stationary as souvenirs for her 8 year vacation...but I have never seen a woman just take all she can get as much as Michelle.

Also, whether threatening to kill someone is crime or not is vague and varies. For instance, many people threaten bodily harm to athletes and their families all the time. You never hear of any of those people being prosecuted.

Meh, the world moved on when JFK and Lincoln were killed. Just sayin. I'm not wishing death upon anyone, but one man isn't so important that the entire world will fall into chaos if he's killed.

Whatever chaos will or will not ensue the president is a major and obvious target. And if some of the comments in this thread alone are anything to go by the Secret Service is entirely justified in feeling a little jittery.

34 and not focused on anyone/anything. The biggest claim you can make is that "media wasn't as all-encompassing in those days" with the lack of 24 hour news channels - and if Betty or Rosalynn or Nancy took some posh million-dollar getaway, it slipped past the men with the cameras.

Hell, the media tried to nail Nancy Reagan to the cross just for buying some new WH China because they did not have enough matching China for State Dinners---the same China that is still in use today in the WH BTW.

I'm not saying we shouldn't defend the POTUS. Of course we should. He should be well protected. All I'm saying is the SS shouldn't be doggedly pursuing every single individual that makes some offhand remark about him.

Well, a 4 million dollar trip to Hawaii sure makes a man do a double-take. I can't remember what the Africa trip tallied up to, but it was rather lavish.

C'mon, you and I both know that Michelle is just squeezing every dime she can out of this administration. One thing you can't say about Bush - his trips back to Crawford weren't really setting the taxpayer coffers back that much in comparison.

Anyway, we're getting off-topic. If someone wants to follow through with shooting him, so be it. I can live with Biden. Wouldn't be happy, but wouldn't think it to be the worst thing either.

2)Presidents and their wives shouldn't be able to go to non-continental states.
