Whose fault is sequestration?

Whose fault is sequestration?

You mean who is most at fault. Body Oder and the Dems of course. Socialist love to spend productive peoples money on social programs and don't give a damned about how much they spend. The Liberals, aka, American Socialist are totally at fault. Take away welfare, medicaid and other useless social spending and we would be doing pretty good.

The White House proposed it. The President insisted on it - and threatened to veto anything that didn't include it. Republicans offered credible alternatives to it in the form of Budgets, which the Senate is required to do by law, a law that they have broken several years running now.

The President is at fault through action. Congressional Democrats are at fault through inaction. The American people are at fault through their own electoral choices. Democracy is the theory that the people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. Well, get ready America, you are going to spend the next few years getting what you voted for.

There is only one clear choice to the poll. The entire sequestration idea was Republican. It was the only way that the Republicans would agree to raise the debt ceiling. The fact that they are now running from it is not surprising, but the fact that there are people out there that cannot see that it was completely Republican is baffling.

The whole lot of them. They all got us into this, they all basically blustered about it not happening, and then they all have done jack to actually deal with it.

Woodward documents in his 2012 book The Price of Politics that team Obama first proposed the idea of the sequester. Expanding on his work in a Sunday Washington Post op-ed, he noted—as he has before—that both President Obama and his would-be Treasury Secretary Jack Lew lied on the campaign trail by saying the sequester originated with House Republicans. The White House has now ceded that fact....

woops? :)

Tell that to the new ranks of the unemployed.:(

No where in the sequester does it say that jobs need to be cut that is Obama and his administrations decision
Funny how when a Company layoff workers they scream that is not right that company can make those cuts elsewhere why don't the heads cut their own salary to keep those workers but when Obama does it you hear nothing but crickets

It was voted on and passed by Congress. What I blame Obama for is the current demagoguing of the issue, and threatening to furlough govt employees and curtail services simply because the increase to the budget will be less than it would be without the sequestration. Obama got his tax increases when the Bush tax cuts expires.

And unrestricted raising of the debt ceiling and unlimited debt spending is good how?

This mindless blame game get old real fast.

It isn't about whose fault it is because every single one of them had their hands in the cookie jar.

The issue is why is this being promoted with fear mongering?

Why is it so horrible to not spend as much money as we were going to?

Should we have a 800 Billion annual budget for the Pentagon?

Should The Federal Reserve be able to print money at will?

What are we going to do to actually tackle this 16 Trillion deficit in a reasonable amount of time...not within 25-30 years but 5-10 years?

aybe we don't watch the same news sources.

They are going to furlough a boatload of skilled shipbuilder at Newport News, VA; next month due to this.

None of the above--it's the voters that put them where they are.

If you ask a child to drive a car - it's hardly the little guy's/gal's fault if it crashes.

It's yours for putting then behind the wheel.

The fact that 90+% of these politicians - on both sides, from the top down - are so STAGGERINGLY incompetent/corrupt, just shows how staggeringly useless the average American voter is at choosing competent candidates.

But because most of these useless voters are too ignorant to realize the problem is them - they keep blaming the very people they voted for; instead of looking at who truly is to blame...the person in the mirror.

That's impossible. We all know Republicans are blameless. :lamo

And we all know that the idea originated with the WH and was then accepted and passed by the Congress. Obama stated he would veto any attempt to stop the sequestration. The demagoguing started with Obama changed his story in order to score political points.

Just out of curiosity...you said above..."Obama stated he would veto any attempt to stop the sequestration." That's it, the end...there was no IF CONGRESS didn't yadda, yadda, yadda? Seems like there was something that followed what Obama said in the context of the sentence that you posted. I just can't remember what it was.

I don't know who is most at fault to be honest but I personally will consider the political side to be the guilty party if I see them as being the ones using this an an opportunity to demonize instead to working to correct it.

Yeah we voted for them who are a two party monopoly.

Who are we supposed to vote for? The Easter Bunny?

He should be impeached for that.
