A couple of problems with your 'hilarious' :)lamo)response

1) Cicero ain't Chicago, it is the same urban area but it is a separate municipality

2) As Cicero is part of the same urban area, local police probably coordinate with Chicago police. It is less likely that a Chicago resident could legally purchase a firearm that falls under the restrictions in Chicago law. 'Street' buys could be done in Chicago - so why drive to Cicero.

3) Driving an hour out of the city puts a gun buyer into a region with less thoughts about complying with Chicago law or statutes.

4) Mentioning Cicero as an attempted rebuttal of my earlier point about the lack of a fence around Chicago just kinda, you know, totally destroys your original point about how Chicago has super-strict laws regarding gun ownership and yet has a very high murder rate. So what is your point?

Laws on gun ownership in America don't do any good in suppressing gun crime because Americans can travel freely, therefore - why bother? Is that what you are trying to say? or perhaps there is some other motive behind you referring to Chicago's crime problem. ?????

It means slow one, that gun control hurts law abiding citizens and enables higher criminal activity. And if you want to get technical I could buy a gun 2 blocks from the Magnificent Mile with little or no effort. You definitely need to remove your blinders.

personal attacks "slow one" aren't nice

Your other claim, which is the one promulgated by the gun manufacturers lobby, better known as the NRA, fails to answer the point I made - as long as those places with strict gun control laws are not separated from the easy buy regions by some type of border control, then places like Chicago can only use their laws to add penalties to those who are caught and found to violate said control ordinances in addition to other criminal activity. After the fact punishment does little to stop crime as history shows us.

Making something illegal does little for those who want it and even creates criminal activity i.e. alcohol and pot.

The government have been getting more and more powerful. They have also started big brother. Well Bush started it and Obama Super sized it. Personally I think it is time to hit the reset button on the government. We can do it now with non stopping demonstrations or later with force. Now I am going to find that article about the phone companions selling our internet records (history, emails) to government agencies.

Thank you.
I think that we should not deny that crazies exist and that we should do what is in our power to fight the crazies since they are being used against law abiding citizens that just happen to own firearms.

In my opinion, the crazies are the crux of the problem. We are attempting to solve a mental health problem with gun control. State and Federal agencies hae been cutting mental health budgets since Ronnie Reagan and that is a greater portion of the problem. Does gov't money solve everything? No, but you need to start where the problem initiates, not in a fantasy world generated by Mass Media hype. Who's agenda might the Media be promoting? That is a reasonable question.
