You mean the League of Nations? And then the UN and all that? That isn't a global government.
I'm talking about the treaties and international laws all signing nations are bound to since the end of the First World War.

And the EU is something like a confederation... only a top-down form of confederation.
Top down from what? The EU has an elected Parliament.

However, a global government is one of genocidal notions, up there with one culture, one people, one everything. It brings over the stench of monopolism and communism.
lol, where are you getting this from?

yes, the EU has an elected parliament. And so does every country who pertains to the notions of a republic. Great. So, how does that help? You know who else had elected parliaments? The communists. Did the people manage to live in an Utopia as they were promised? No. Did the parliament to anything to curb themselves from a ruinous totalitarian rule? No. Why? Because the culture of the parliament was that of bringing about more totalitarianism, more poverty, more ruin to the people. Just like the culture of the EU parliament is to bring about eternal debt and they have voted into existence, and into function starting from 1st of January 2013 , a new bank of perpetual debt -> the ESM (European stability mechanism).

I am getting it from history and by using my own brain.

You must be joking.

You clearly have no idea what a parliament is if you think it's some "communist" construct. Parliaments have existed as a form of representative governance far before Karl Marx's grandfather was a twinkle in his daddy's eye.

You may want to find better sources of information. You don't even understand what a confederation is, let alone a parliament. Both of which the United States utilized to great effect.

I never said that Parliament is a communist construct. I cannot even imagine how you would understand from this: "yes, the EU has an elected parliament. And so does every country who pertains to the notions of a republic. Great. So, how does that help? You know who else had elected parliaments? The communists." that Parliament is a communist construct. Where did I say that it is a communist construct? All I said was that commies had it to. Why? Because the USSR = union of soviet SOCIALIST REPUBLICS. And so did the other states who were opressed under the iron curtain, they too, were still republics. But they were communist. The rest of the world who wasn't suffering under the boot communism also had republics. From the correct western republics in Europe and other western nations to the freed colonies and what naught. I cannot imagine how you could derive that I said that Parliament was a communist construct..

You're just making a fool of yourself dude. I told you what a confederacy is, I gave you examples, the best of which is Switzerland. Here is the quote:
"Switzerland is, as far as I am aware, the only federation that can be called a confederation in its purest form. I like it, but it works for Switzerland, not the world. " from my comment found on the previous page.

My god, talking to you is like talking to a dog. Or something lower... a demagogue. Or something even lower than that, a socialist.
Jesus. You are the almost going to panopticon level.

It appears to me that you are the one who is disconnected to any language that can be perceived as being logical, sane or in tune with the thing you are talking about.

Its impossible for two "gentlemen" to discuss anything when one resorts to abasements and insults.....Or, am I misusing the word "gentlemen" ??
Please look up the meaning of respect.
My take on a "one-world-government" is this :
There will be one language..
one culture
probably no religions
no people trying to control others
all before any one world government comes into effect.
We have taken the first step, and have a million more to go. And we have taken many "backward" steps.....IMO, overall, it is one forward step... and 999,999 to go...

The red part is exactly what I was talking about. Globalists love genocide..

Yes, but that's the end result you want don't you? The blue stuff is the "goal" in your opinon. You want the genocide of all cultures and all diversity for just one... one single thing. If that happens, we'll be less than dogs.

Is that a fact ?
In truth...its extremists who love genocide, as they hate humanity...
The end result I want is peace...for all of mankind...
It is happening right now, right under our noses, but we cannot see this...We are merging into one language...one culture...one religion(if any).
NO ONE IS FORCING THIS...
Check out Switzerland, remember that progress, like evolution, is very slow..

Where ?
How could any man, way back then, ever forecast this ???....Even today its difficult.

I've actually been studying a little about this in bible prophecy. It gets a little controversial because some, including Bible Prophecy expert Grant Jeffrey, are claiming that there are global elites who want a global government. There's also what's happening in Europe right now.

For those of you who aren't aware about what's happening in Europe, the European Union is having two different issues right now:
(1) Some countries in Europe have large national debts. Only from what I've heard over and over again, these countries are threatening to collapse the European Union and make it to where the EU no longer exists.
(2) As a result, the EU is forcing countries, such as Greece, to accept budget cuts. At the same time, they're appointing people to run these countries, which is done by ignoring democratic elections.

^Because of our national debt problem here in America, some are saying that what's happening in Europe right now is about to happen to us. As a result of all this chaos, it's possible a global government might be proposed.

Possibly, but it probably wouldn't last very long.

It could possibly happen, but I think it is unlikely, because it is hard to get all countries to agree to join an union. And the current troubles in EU will make other countries hesitate before they choose to do the same. However there is a potential as there is a lot of power hungry people out there.

What we are more likely to see is new unions being formed and break apart like Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. It will be interesting to see if EU develops into a better and stronger union, if it becomes totalitarian, if it stays dysfunctional like now or break apart.

Well, one day we will face some common challenge, from earrths destruction to global warming. We will have to unite!:peace

I'm not going to go as far as to say that it's impossible for it to happen, but the chances of every government and religion congregating together just seems slightly nonsensical-- at least for today's day and age.
Maybe it'll happen one day, but that day isn't coming any time soon...

Well, one day we will face some common challenge, from earrths destruction to global warming. We will have to unite!:peace
A common challenge does not require one world government. If people feel an issue is important enough, then it will be easy to create some international treaty. The reason we haven't done much about global warming is because people don't think the issue is important enough, and I hardly believe global warming is going to be the biggest problem for the west in the 21th century. There is no reason why humans shouldn't be able to stand a temperature increase of 2-3C. I think the biggest challenge for the west is to deal with the shortage of oil, fall inn standard of living and to deal with debt bubbles.

However a one world government will be difficult to reverse, will be corrupt, and will hardly be democratic. First off half of the countries in the world are not democratic, and even if they are that does not guarantee that the national governments represent the population at international level.

I wonder if people would be in favor of a world-wide direct democracy when billions of people in other countries can impose their values on you.

And what series of events would need to occur for such a government to come into existence?

Considering europe with the EU and euro currency have been our way of testing the waters for this, I would hope their failures will teach some of the proponents why it isn't a good idea.

Well, people better start coming up with better reasons than "omg fascism" to counter it. So far a confederation of global powers looks to be the likely outcome. If anything, I see two confederations, due to the split caused by the Cold War. East and West all over again, with those stuck in the middle forced to make a tough decision.

I don't live on absolutes...so impossible and inevitable are eliminated, but I will say it probably will not happen.
