They can earn as much as they can it will just just be taxed at an increasing rate.
Yep. It's a stepping stone to something bigger, even in a minimum wage job one can learn more about the company, what's expected of them, and what higher positions entail. There's always the potential for someone with drive and ambition to improve and advance.Very true. These people whine incessantly about the minimum wage not being one you can live on. It's not supposed to be. It's certainly not supposed to be a wage you can raise a family on. It's supposed to be the lowest possible wage which someone can use to learn a skill and rise up the corporate ladder.
What's the maximum salary America's business executives should be allowed to receive?
$100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.37 That limitation should expire in 2023 to allow adjusting for inflation.

Yet the problem is that people, especially liberals, think that anyone who has a job ought to be able to raise a huge family on it, no matter how low-skill or low-paying it is and they point to people who have years of education and usually decades of experience making a lot of money and the liberals act like all the education and experience shouldn't mean a thing, they should lose their well-deserved salaries and give it to the people who have been irresponsible and have not learned a good work ethic.
It makes no sense. People earn what they are worth. They don't deserve more because they whine about it.
any man/woman who toils for forty hours per week, doing the job they are assigned, should expect to earn a living wage for those efforts
you have clearly shown where the chasm exists between conservatives and liberals
What is a living wage? If it is above the minimum wage why isn't the DNC pushing for a raise in the minimum wage to the "living wage"?
a living wage is that which an employee, working full time, would realize from his employment, rather than from government subsidies, to provide the living essentials

Since I don't know what "living essentials" means to you and invite the standard of living being too damn high argument, how about just saying what you think minimum wage should be.

what if your skills are not sufficient to earn a "living wage" whatever that means?
some people are not worth 10 dollars an hour
All good answers. Thanks for the input so far.
I still disagree. They should do away with golden parachutes and cap their pay. The people doing the real work that makes the company money should get paid a lot more. You'll never convince me that an executive should make the amount of money they are making. Maybe if they started breaking a sweat doing the hard work. You can put any monkey in a suit in an executive office and the company will still run itself.
Unfortunately, as long as its the wealthy who design the tax laws, the rich will NOT pay their "fair" share.
That's actually how a lot of the big dogs do it. There has to be a taxable income, typically the base salary is somewhere between 100-200k plus stock options. Where the CEOs have gotten a sweet deal is the backend of the contract with guaranteed severence, that's something I'd like to see ended, if they are fired or forced to resign they should have the same exit as any other employee.
Sure was. And what did Jesus say about judging others? Blanket judging, no less. You've managed to condemn an entire tax bracket to everlasting damnation, all by yourself! What incredible judicial powers you must have, your Worship!!lol
Alll good morally Christian answers - what did Jesus say about the rich passing through the eye of a needle again? Something about a camel wasnt it?

The TOP 400 income earners in the USA take home about 300 million dollars per year EACH and pay about 18% tax.
Thats about $144,000 per hour - Now what crucial work deserves that sort of renemeration? IS it more important than a scientist working on a cure for cancer? A US soldier putting his or her life on the line? A Doctor? etc
The Minimum wage in the USA is barely above $7 per hour and still these elite Plutocrats think it is way too high and effecting their profit margins.
Crush the middle class and totally obliterate the poor whilst serving these greedy socio paths that run businesses like a casino and have little regards to what damage they do socially and environmentally
THis is what the fascist US Corpocracy represents - and why it needs a violent military based imperial foreign policy to survive.
And there are many clown servant slaves that have taken the spin bait that this is really freedom and democracy
George ORwell would be spinning in his casket
(all good answers - lol)
