I was just curious as to whom people thought will run in 2016 given that President Obama is term limited and we will once again have an open election.

almost undoubtedly clinton. i doubt biden will contest the nomination, we all know the hillster is the president in waiting assuming obama does a decent job the next 4 years.

Hillary Clinton is an obvious choice. Mark Warner and Andrew Cuomo are probably the second tier.

I would love if Andrew Cuomo, or Cory Booker ran, and I would also be a big supporter of Hillary.

Though really, it is far too early to decide, we've still got four more years of Obama.

I dont know who will run, so I voted for those who I would most like to see run.

First choice: Beth Warren
Second choice: Clinton

Im surprised to see so many saying Clinton. How old will she be in 2016, about 69? If she served two terms she'd be 77 at the end.

I know people can point to Reagan & say he was about the same age but that was an exception rather than the norm.

I might be wrong but I think the party itself will either push further left, because they can now, or push for another young, radical democrat, probably from the right of the party to try & block the GOP from re-aligning closer to the middle.

Whether the members go with the leadership is another matter, but I dont see the party itself pushing Clinton.

I suspect Cuomo will not run in 2016. If the situation in '16 is really good for Dems, Hillary will probably run, in which case I think he will wait. If it is really bad for Dems, he will wait as well.

I'm guessing that Julian Castro will follow Obama's footsteps going from keynote speaker at the convention to presidential nominee.

I'm going to say Barack Obama, again. His ego is that big. "FDR went three terms, so why the F*** can't I?".

I put down Warren, Biden and Booker. Though it'd be nice to see Stein running with the DNC.

the 2016 presidential race will be a high hurdle for democrats, as is always the case after eight years of incumbency. they will have to run an amazingly good candidate, and even if they do win, it's unlikely that they'll get a full two terms. they'll be facing a retooled republican party and probably some very strong candidates. I'm not sure that promotion of next in line is the best strategy.
