Sitting with my wife and daughter watching ABC and explaining to my very liberal daughter who the process works.
 
I am going to make it a long night out on the town as I know there won't be results and it would be crazy making waiting for them. To literally get away from the TV because if one is near, I'm going to watch it.

I can't tell you how strongly I disapprove of this, but my guess is exit polls will be broadcast by noon, EST, at the latest.

I think it's more an illustration of Hannity needing to up his game than my needing to up my standards. The fact that I would rather to listen to Maddow over anyone says something about them.
 
I think I'm going to fly up to Ohio and volunteer to be a ballot recounter and "hanging chad" interpreter. :shrug:

My local news tonight reported that every polling station in my county will have "observers" and lawyers for both sides on site, the entire time the polls are open.

Hot damn, am I glad I already voted.

I agree. I used to live in California and they would call an election before people there had even voted. There should be a law that they're not allowed to proclaim a victor until every single vote is counted. I'm sure it's even worse for the people in Hawaii.

I know a lot of people hate him because of the channel he works for but I think Bill O'Reilly is a relatively fair guy. He'll go after the right as well as the left. He does go after the left a little harder, however, I didn't watch him with Dubya was POTUS. He may go after the right hard when they're in power as well.

There are at least 10 different brands. Cottonelle makes a good one. I use them when we are training because I know they will eventually break down inside the hole I dug. Yes, one branch of service still craps in holes when they go to "the field" as we call it. All the rest reserve port-a-jons for their training areas. So, to complete my rant, this is why the Marine Corps is better than all the rest. We crap in holes, they crap in port-a-jons lol.

I don't want commentary and op ed pieces from newscasters -- I want NEWS. Sadly, no one is serving what I want (although I think PBS does as good a job as any of them).

Personally, I like Anderson Cooper. I think he does a decent job. I watched CNN's debate coverage and it was pretty good. If they would get rid of Roland Martin, they would be golden

I can't bear to watch Cooper, because of all the handwringing he did immediately after the Haitian earthquake. That was so over the top -- as if I personally was responsible and if I didn't empty out my savings, I was killing those people.

Nope -- he blew all his credibility with me on that one issue.

(Frankly, I rarely watch tv news. I usually just read newspapers -- and even that's enough to provoke me into a mini-rage at least once a week.)
