Yes I am having a lot of trouble convincing myself to pull the Romney lever based on the PBS comment.

Debates don't really change minds. Welcome to hyper-partisan, polarized America!

Why is PBS so important to so many people? We need to cut back all the big budget items but will have to also look at small budget items to cut and PBS is a great small budget item to cut. Why is it that we can't even cut things like PBS and PP?

I knew I was voting for Obama's 2012 opponent, 4 years ago. There is no debate, speech, news story or anything else that could change my vote.

If the government doesnt fund PBS then the millionaires who run the station and shows may have to start supporting themselves and taking care of yourself is just unamerican these days.

i already knew the policy positions of the candidates. i only watched the debates to see what soundbites other less motivated voters would make their decision based on. so, to sum, no, the debates didn't change my vote.

Cut anything you want, just do not expect my help in cutting PBS. It isn't like we don't waste boatloads of money on crap I consider useless expenditures. I personally don't consider PBS wasted money.

Yeah, I'm voting for Romney now.

What does it do to warrant its funding?

It gets my support and that is my right. If you do not agree, that is your right. It is not my job to convince you of anything.

The Debates, did not change or decide my voting choice for Romney, i had already decided that, however, they gave me more confidence in my choice , that I have made the right decision.

You just aren't any fun. :2razz:

My guy doesn't get invited to debate, so no, the debates don't really influence me either way.

Even before he had a chance to demonstrate his policies. Even before you knew how bad Romney is.

What could possibly bring you to unconditionally oppose this man?

They haven't influenced me at all and I've watched ALL the debates including the one last night hosted by Larry King for the third party candidates. Governor Gary Johnson is the best candidate to me. I will vote for him and wish others would vote third party as well.

I fear that it will be a very close election.
Not only must I vote for Obama, but I must influence others.....ha...
I feel that we do have a greater chance for peace and prosperity with President Obama.
Romney will make things better only for the wealthy, the very wealthy, and the super wealthy, at the expense of the poor.

The PBS funding should be increased by ten-fold in order to stop them from begging every three months.
Even then, their shows are far better (educationally) than mainstream TV.
Just recently, a series on The Cuban Missile Crisis....and another on Global warming....and one on the right wing and all their money...campaign finance reform...
They are "fair and balanced" , and, IMO, right...

Yeah, what a stupid thing to say. Cut funding to PBS. An organization who receives the lion's share of its funding from private contributions and corporate sponsorships. *Shaking Head* Can't cut there. Give me a break.

You didn't have an option I could vote for, so I'll just explain my thinking. I'm pretty much a die-hard Republican. I don't think I've ever voted for a Democratic president in my lifetime. This time, it was going to be hard. I'd begun to believe the lies about Romney. Thanks to DP, and thanks even more to the debates, I am now much more confident in my choice. That's a win. Glad I watched,

Sure because Lord knows we need channels with more Kardashians and Jersey Shore people on them. By the way, there are a ton of stupid things you say that I try to be at least polite about. It is not a matter of can or cannot. It is my vote. I can use it however the hell I want.

Fisher, my "stupid thing to say" wasn't directed at you. It was directed at Romney, as in, "Yeah, what a stupid thing for Romney to say." I'm sorry you inferred I meant you.

I'm sure I say stupid things, Fisher. Feel free to point them out with impunity. Others certainly do. ;)

Nope. Just reinforced my belief that the debates are meaningless and that Obama and Romney are essentially the same guy
