Dear 3rd Parties:

Please start producing POTUS candidates which actually have a chance of winning a primary before powering up the QQtrain. Many of us stuck in the 2-party system hate that we can only either vote for someone we don't like but isn't as bad as the other guy, someone we like but can't in a million years win, or not vote at all. We would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to vote for a candidate who represents our interests and can take office.

We feel we're tossing away our vote no matter what we do, so if you claim to be the answer, then please deliver or STFU.

Sincerely,

Evil Conservative Industries

Bob Barr was a congressman from Georgia. Gary Johnson was the governor of New Mexico. Its not that they arent qualified, its that the two party system wont allow them into the process.

Ok so, sprinkle some pixie dust and remove whatever is stopping them.

Until that day, there's no point in voting for a 3rd party.

That wasnt the point of your post and not what I responded to.

Yes it was.

Dear 3rd parties:
Either put-up or shut-up.

Sincerely,
Everyone who's tired of your whining.
Continue to vote for either of the two major parties that have stuck your children with a to-date total of 16 trillion and counting. On the plus side...the two parties are pretty much interchangeable, so you cant lose.

Thus the problem I originally mentioned. We can either vote for someone who's part of the problem, or for someone who can't possibly win, or not at all.

Or choose to not vote. Lots of options. First...I AM a libertarian...not just due to party affiliation. Second...when enough people bother to vote SOME third party, the two party system will get the message. Look at the difference a handful of "Tea Party" politicians make...not in action but response.

I already said that:

I don't know what difference has been made, you're more informed about it then I am. All I see is a 3rd party who keeps whining but can never put up a candidate who has a snow-ball's chance at winning. A lot of it has to do with wanting to legalize hard drugs and an isolationist foreign policy platform. Dump all that ****.

But thats the point. Its not the quality of candidate that doesnt have the snowballs chance...Its the system that ensures the candidate wont get the chance to compete in the first place.

I completely agree with the Libertarian parties position on legalizing drugs BTW. They would be MUCH smarter if they simple adopted a position that states should have the right to decide. On MOST financial issues and on levels of government involvement most people have libertarian leans.

So go fix that. There's nothing the voter can do so leave us alone.

Eliminating prescriptions is a horrible idea. Drugs are controlled for a reason. We learned our lesson with Coke and Pepsi. I'd rather vote for Obama then a candidate who supported such nonsense.

"3rd Party" =/= "Libertarian". I'm still a conservative so any 3rd party I support must have conservative values, and legalizing hard drugs isn't it. I'll flex and bend on a lot of things, but there's a limit. Have your pre-viability abortion, have your SSM, take "under God" out of the pledge, but eliminating prescriptions is a horrible idea.

Dear uniformed ignorant voter,

Third Party candidates emerge in every election. Due to the neglect by mainstream media, and bullying by corporate special interest groups they cannot be heard. The money that flows into the 2 party system is ridiculous and 3rd party candidates cannot even compete with the millions upon millions in the other two parties.

There are plenty of qualified candidates that run in other political parties. Until we get control over campaign finances, and put a cap on any corporate donations...they will never be heard.

It is up to you to educate yourself on these people and listen to their views. Be a responsible American and do your research on ALL candidates for the highest office instead of just the two presented to you.

Yours Truly,

Responsible Americans

P.S. If you choose to not educate yourself then please abstain from voting.

PPS. Seriously, don't vote if you won't look at all candidates.

There is no excuse for not voting unless you are in a coma.

Most Americans might as well be in a coma, considering how ignorant they are.

Er...uh, the 'crappiest' American? That may very well be me...as I catch and eat as many of those tasty suckers as I can...:lamo

Deep fried crappie with home fries n onions...tough to beat!

Can't be bothered?

You must not understand how much money it takes to get out there. Republicans and Democrats have corporate groups backing them that pay millions upon millions to get their little puppet candidates on the airwaves. Third parties have to rely on individual donations and that can't even compare to the big 2.

Not all third party candidates want to legalize drugs. Virgil Goode is an example of that from the Constitution Party. He stated in the debate that he wouldn't legalize pot. You need to get off your high horse and stop believing everything the mainstream media puts in front of your face.

You sit there thinking that the candidates don't want to get out there which is a flat out lie. They do, but they simply don't have the money or power to do it which is why we need serious change in how campaigns are financed. Also, we should allow all candidates the chance to be on the debate stage so the people can hear different ideas instead of two guys who are similar in every way minus skin color.

I think there should have been a fifth option: "Lesser-of-two-evils voter who always votes for the same party."

In any event I picked Single-Issue Voters, and would pick them a thousand times if I could. We might as well allow children to vote, as their decision would be about on par with how much thought these people put into it.

Even Teddy Roosevelt couldn't win under this system. That's why we need a runoff. Most of our other elections have them. Then "a vote for Perot means a vote for Clinton" wouldn't scare people away from voting their real choice. There's also an automatic runoff where you vote for your top two choices.

Then drop out of politics and go find a different career path.

Obama wins by a mile

Not voting doesn't make him a crappy American IYO, Mags?

Sure does in mine.

I hate it when someone votes for or against something they don't understand at all, and I love it when someone knows that they shouldn't vote because they don't understand it. I just think that if you don't understand the issue, you shouldn't have a say in it. Research the topic, then vote. I also think that if it doesn't effect you, you shouldn't vote because you shouldn't have a say in other people's business. Voting is a responsibility, and some people are irresponsible. Responsibility isn't for everone.
