Why would the guy who doesn't vote be a crappy American when they already know and understand that their vote doesn't matter?
My take on the crappiest American wasn't represented in the poll choices.
The crappiest American is the one who puts party first, country second. The partisans. The people who disregard all logic and reason because they have arbitrarily decided that their partisan ideology is correct.
They aren't stupid by nature, they are stupid by choice. That's unforgivable.
Every vote matters. If not for patriotism or even out of concern about state and local politics, then consider living somewhere like Ohio, where the winning candidate for president may be chosen by a few thousand votes but will take all our electoral college votes.
It's not true that none of us as individuals can have an impact -- and if you choose to do more than vote (campaigning, giving money, getting involved with your local or state party) you'd be flabbergasted at just how much of an impact you can have, and you don't need to be a DuPont heir to exert it.
