It depends on what the lie is.

It depends on the lie. People have said I have black hair. This is a lie. I have very dark brown hair. No problem.

People say I am a liberal. Well kinda and I might correct them depending on the subject matter.

People say because I am ethnic I am a traitor and a white supremecist. BULL****. I will call them out on this with everything I have and damn the consequences.

So it depends

I was being sarcastic and referring to the debate. People don't tell a lot of lies about me but I'd think I'd usually let it slide unless it's meant to tarnish my image. But in a debate I'd correct everything untrue.

You would be spending the entire time doing that instead of getting your message out. This may end up with you losing supporters because they see you rather than your opponent as argumentative

I think we should first define "lie".

If I were Romney or Obama, I would answer: "That is not true." Or "You have completely distorted my position." If I could quickly explain, I would. Otherwise, I would say, "Folks, all you have to do is go to MittRomney.com and click on Foreign Policy. You will see what I advocate. And it is absolutely not what President Obama has just described. I don't want to waste anymore time refuting untruths; I would rather be able to respond to the question myself, so . . . and I would give my own response to the question at hand. "

In my personal life, the few times someone has asked me about gossip they've heard, my reply has been, "Hahahaha!!! You've got to be kidding! That is such a lie. Good Lord!!!" No explanation provided. No further discussion.

A is a no-brainer. I then ask myself why the false remark was made. If there were negative intentions behind it then I'll confront then, rather than just correct them.

With a few notable exceptions I can think of, 9 times out of 10 I would call them out on it right away.

It depends on what the lie is.

Yeah, that...

The concequences could be anywhere from blowing it off to beating the living **** out of someone.

And the other thing of course is Karma...I am a strong believer that you get what you give. It's a spiritual Law.

Like a boomerang... it all comes back to you. :)

Call them out on it. How confrontational I would be would depend on the 'lie' and would depend on the circumstances. I definitely wouldn't let it slide.

That's not my nature.

I wouldn't even bother calling them out on it. I knew a pathological liar when I was a kid who I used to always call out, and it made no difference. Nothing changed, so why waste your time and energy? I would simply have nothing to do with that person ever again if it was a serious enough lie. When you cut someone out of your life, then they can't lie about you or to you anymore.

It depends on who they told the lie to moreso than what the lie is. I really don't get that bent out of shape usually. Life is too short to let people suck me up into their own personal drama.

Depends on the lie. But if its about politics or about my personal position on an issue i would correct them. But if they keep on believing the lie then there is really no hope for them.
