It is a sign of our self-hating times that someone from Spain is ashamed of the Spanish wars of liberation from Islam, preventing today's Spaniards from living like Afghans.
You mean I ought to be proud of the ethnic cleansing of Jews and Moslems, mass destruction of cultural riches, arbitrary executions and the imposition of a fundamentalist religious régime that would make the Taliban look like the Peace Corps? You need to read some proper history books and not the revisionist claptrap you appear to favour.

I recommend this book for a balance to all that Euro-centric stuff you probably think is the full story.

The Crusades

Do "Christians" believe in invading a country like Iraq killing hundreds of thousands of civilians even though Iraq didn't invade the US? Should Christians have voted for George W. Bush in 2004?
Only if it was cleared through Jesus.

Only the ignorant apply air-conditioned ethics to the heat of battle. In Vietnam, I myself had to listen to a gut-shot Marine scream himself to death. It was the most horrible thing I have ever heard, and the Crusaders had to endure this insanity even more. So it's no wonder that they would lose their cool and strike out mercilessly at anything that breathed.

The Europeans originated in a higher culture and would eventually recover from the fall of the western Roman Empire and progress into the modern world, their natural destination. In a reverse of this process, the tribes that had adopted Islam originated in a barbaric Stone Age culture and would soon relapse into their natural savagery. So by delaying their conquest of the eastern Empire and buying time for their own return to their natural state, the Crusaders advanced civilization, even though they acted uncivilized when fighting the uncivilized. If even the Spanish are infected with multiculturalism, I wonder if Islam's victims in India are starting to pump themselves up with the same illusion of moral superiority derived from cowardice and decadence.

Your fallacy is that you apply your values to history. Your assumption that there is some sort of arrow of progress, that there is a "higher" or "lower" civilization. You make a very curious remark which implies that the Roman Empire at its height was somehow the "nature" of Europeans, and the Medieval period was unnatural, whereas you seem to think that the Islamic Golden age was unnatural whereas the pre-Islamic "stone age" was natural (incidentally, the pre-Islamic period in the Middle East was highly civilized, so you're flat out wrong about that part).

The fact is that cultural values shouldn't enter into a historical analysis and the idea that Europeans are more naturally disposed to civilization is just chauvinism.

You must have been educated at the same Indonesian madrasa where Barack Hussein Obama formed his lifetime perspectives. The oil money that jihadist OPECkers extorts from civilized nations finances all the recent anti-European and anti-Christian propaganda. This noble-savage fantasy didn't get pushed on an unsuspecting public until 1973, when after President Nixon backed down from seizing the oilfields as the only self-protective response to the Arab Oil Embargo, the natural-born pirate tribes started charging dozens of times what "their" oil is worth. Self-determination for people determined to destroy us is a sign of the suicidal decadent thought infecting the West in these rootless times.

And what about the Islamic Golden Age? Islam was advancing in the fields of science, medicine, and philosophy.

Since Obama disagrees with most of the things he believes in like SSM, abortion any time including partial birth should Christians vote for him?

Personally, I'd hope they can separate religion and politics - remember Biden in the debate? I supported views like that.
