That's why antibiotics are pretty much useless against viruses and viral infections.
Ya, I know -- and I think I figured that out in time to spare my kid from antibiotic resistance.
WHY do MDs do that, prescribe an antibiotic when the patient doesn't have a bacterial infection?
Scientists do not consider viruses to be alive?

NO Viruses are the wierd ones of the natural world. They have no nucleus and no organelles just chemical transformation and transportation. But variety is the spice of life. Yes?
You don't really want to know the answer to that question do you?
But there are "dead" viruses, correct?
Why isn't it logical to infer from this that there must also be "live" ones?
Yes viruses can "die" and that is the objective of viral medicines to "kill" them. All it means for a virus to be dead is that it has stopped its biochemical processes. Its similar to saying a dead battery.
