Do you think most Blacks vote for Obama just because he black?

Do you think most Blacks vote for Obama just because he black?

No NP, just no.

First off, you will always have idiots in play. People who only vote because of the letter next to the candidates name. That's nothing new.

Second off, did your video interview every single black person in the USA? All of them? Or did they go out, collect all the people who responded stupidly, and then put that in the video?

A Obama got in the high nineties...which would be about 2 million more black votes.........

What? Navy, your realize that not all blacks can vote. You have to be of a certain age limit, ya know.

I think Obama being black has something to do with his appeal towards getting the black people's vote. At least it certainly did in the last elections.

Many blacks, especially religious ones, are against Obama for standing up for the homosexuals and the gay marriage thing. Many... will still support him.

I would think it would be best if people would stop making simple polls with just yes and no in regards to questions that are more complex. It would be nice to have more logical and thorough discussions and proper polls to boot.

I always make yes or no polls because I don't want the posters to cop out with wishy washy answers.....

Against Bush both Gore and Kerry both got in the high 80% area... Obama got in the high nineties...which would be about 2 million more black votes.........

Kerry got 88%, Obama got 95%. Of course, Obama also got 4% more of the national vote than Kerry did.

Against Bush both Gore and Kerry both got in the high 80% area... Obama got in the high nineties...which would be about 2 million more black votes.........

And Gore got 90%.

I watched a show the other day where where the Moderator went on the street and told Obama voters that Obama is Pro Life, against all abortions, and against equal rights for gays.........90% of them said they knew that already and were still going to vote for him so the question begs to be asked..........

I say no.People being interviewed on the street do not represent the whole population. That said I do believe a lot of people both white and black voted for Obama because he is black just like a lot of people voted for McCain because he is white. But those people do not represent the majority.

How you explain about the way blacks answered the questions on Obama's policies? It showed they knew nothing about Obama's stand on these issues and they voted for him any way?

Because he's the democrat candidate. You can tell someone he supports or opposes abortion or anything else, but I doubt you're going to convince many he's not a democrat. Most people view themselves as democrat or republican and will tend to vote for whoever the party runs regardless. If the democratic candidate got high 80s of the black vote when the democratic candidate was white, my guess is roughly around high 80% of them would vote for Obama were he white too.

again I ask? How you explain about the way blacks answered the questions on Obama's policies? It showed they knew nothing about Obama's stand on these issues and they voted for him any way?

again? you never asked me anything thanks

and I dont know if you know this or not but A LOT of americans dont know about the candidate they support or they only care about ONE thing and the rest dont matter.

lots of people vote SOLELY based on gay rights, abortions, religion, gun laws, party affiliation.

so now that your question is answered and my post still stands do you have anything factual or even logical to support your false claim of "most Blacks vote for Obama just because he black"

The President is black?!??!!

I really need to watch the news more.

Well... they also like President Obama because he gives free phones, like this lady on the video explains.

How you explain about the way blacks answered the questions on Obama's policies? It showed they knew nothing about Obama's stand on these issues and they voted for him any way?

1. Some random television show you watched is not representative of an entire community of people.
2. Maybe that person didn't mention any issues that the interviewees cared about.
3. Maybe they think that the Republicans will be worse, even if they didn't agree with what they perceived Obama's stances on the issues to be.

I know that you're chomping at the bit to push the "black people are stupid" meme, but the fact is that 90+ percent of blacks voting Democrat is nothing unusual or unique to Barack Obama. It's been that way for a long time. Largely because of people like you in the Republican Party.

In 2006 in Maryland, Democrat Ben Cardin got 75% of the black vote against Republican Michael Steele. Cardin is white, Steele is black.

Didn't Steele also have oreo cookies thrown at him?

No. Kerry won 88% of the black vote, so definitely not most. I'm sure there are some people who'd vote for him because he's black, and I'm sure there are people who'd vote against him because he's black, but I'm not sure which group is bigger.

88% is not most?

88% is not most?

He said most people voted for Obama because he's black. Since Obama only won 7% more than Kerry, I said that is not the reason most of them voted for him.

so basically you just showed how history proves your false assumption wrong? LMAO

and just for accuracy the black vote as gone democratic 95, 88, 90, 84, 83, 89, 91, 83, 83% the last 9 years

Good point, especially since all of those redneck white folks down south are all familiar with the nuances of Mitt Romney's position on issues, which is why they'll vote for him. Maybe they can explain his position on issues to the rest of us, since it's pretty much a mystery.

I agree with the poster who labeled this a racist poll.

Not at all...

why would you ask such a question?

My black friends vote for him because they are Democrats who support what he is selling...they voted for Clinton on the same reasoning...and Kerry in '04.

Race isn't the issue...the policies are

There wasn't a black candidate running in any of those races, were there? In fact, I know of a ton of black voters who went out to vote for the first time in their lives because Obama was black and they wanted to vote for the first black Presidential candidate. That was the only reason. I have friends who are in their 40s who never voted until the 2008 election for exactly that reason.

sorry this should say last 9 presidential elections so way back to like 76 or something

I don't know if most of them did, but I'm sure it was a lot. It's a little hard to tell since blacks tend to vote democratic anyway. It would be more interesting to see what percentage would vote for a black republican candidate.
