Since so many right wingers describe Obama as a "Socialist/Communist/", or some variation thereof, I figure by now they'll have made up their minds about which one of these mutually exclusive political philosophies he is.

Remember though, as Socialist believes in sharing wealth, to many different degrees depending on which flavour they are, a Communist, on the other hand, believes in a classless, stateless society where the means of production are evenly distributed. And if he's a Marxist (as is often claimed), then he wants to attain this through violent revolution.

I'm going to go with capitalist. Until he gives us single payer he is not a socialist.

President Obama signed into legislation a law making it illegal to not buy a very expensive product from private businesses. This is not the action of a Socialist or Communist.

I'm sure he's not a Communist. Socialist? I don't know...if allowed to run amok, maybe. I don't think he embraces capitalism...he's somewhere in between, I'd guess. 'Course so are most Democrats, so maybe that shouldn't be a yardstick I use.

Technically its not illegal to not purchase health insurance, what Obama enacted was a tax on those who do not have it. The difference is important, no is going to go before a judge or be thrown in jail for not purchasing health insurance, but its equally accurate to say for all practical purpose they will be punished anyway for not having it via the tax.

Niether, he is of course a IslamoFascist, Athiest bent on bringing gay marriage to America.

Neither, he's far to the right of both. He's closer to a socialist though because socialism is further to the right than communism.

If I had the option I would choose "****ing Retard".

He's not a Socialist or a Communist.

He's a liberal.

You really have no ****ing clue what democrats stand for do you.

Would you kindly stop flitting in and out of threads like a mosquito and make an actual, you know, contribution??

I think if he had the power to change this country into what he wanted it to be - we'd be a Socialist country.

Like your wonderful misrepresentation of what democrats would do? Hint: it ain't socialism.

Seriously, don't you have anything better than mindlessly calling those you disagree with socialist? Here: Jobs and the Economy — President Obama’s Record — Barack Obama

President Obama signed the America Invents Act, historic patent reform legislation that will help American entrepreneurs bring inventions to market sooner, helping to create new businesses and new jobs.

Capitalism

20%: Income tax credit the President has proposed providing to companies on expenses related to moving operations back to the United States

Capitalism

To level the playing field for American businesses and workers, President Obama signed trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia, and Panama. Together, the agreements are estimated to increase exports by approximately $13 billion and support more than 70,000 American jobs.

Supporting capitalism

Small businesses are the engine of job creation—responsible for two out of every three new jobs in the United States. That’s why President Obama has passed tax cuts for small businesses 18 times and streamlined the patent process, providing a new fast track option to cut wait times by two-thirds and help small business innovators move ideas from the lab to market.

Holy ****, more capitalism.

There is a reason why liberals and democrats make fun of all republicans and conservatives when they call us socialists. We actually know what it means, and we actually know what we believe, and what we believe is not socialism. When the best you got is calling the other guys names, you might understand better why Obama is right now a significant favorite to win in November.

I have an idea!!!! Why don't you respond to the thread I just started and educate me??

uhm neither, and nobody honest and educated would think he is.

Why am I forced to post this again:

There should be an "other" option. He's moderate.

He's not a Socialist or a Communist.

He's a liberal.

Of course in most of the 1st world countries he'd probably be considered a conservative. It's all relative really.
