Is Obama a Socialist or a Communist?

I think Obama is a capitalist moderate with a slight liberalism in him. Wanting 100% equal rights for all and insurance and healthcare to not suck a little less doesn't make you a liberal or any of those other tags, it just means you're not an asshole.

While I agree he needs to go, I don't agree with your over-the-top rhetoric on why. For me, it's enough that he wants to implement the liberal agenda and grow the government.

Your and I aren't so different. The difference is where we believe government shouldn't grow. Where we're you when the PATRIOT Act along with homeland was created? What about the unnecessary warring when all it took was a president to make an executive order that the CIA use all of its resources to find squealers and use a team of navy seals?

I don't think I said anything about WHERE the government shouldn't grow, so don't imply that I want the government to grow in certain areas and not others. The fact is...I want the government to be reduced in ALL areas. I also want certain Departments and Agencies removed altogether.

But let's talk about the issues you brought up, eh"

Patriot Act: I think it is useful and necessary.

Homeland Security: Again, useful and necessary.

The problem I have with these two issues isn't that they were created, but that they've been used to increase the size, scope and power of the government. Homeland Security, for example, was designed to consolidate all our intelligence agencies under one roof. It's gone beyond that to the point that we have TSA agents doing their thing at sporting events and even on the sidewalks of our streets.

Unnecessary warring: Not sure exactly what you are referring to here, but you seem to have a very simplistic attitude toward violent conflict in the world. Let's take killing bin Laden for example...Do you think it would have been possible to find him and kill him without the resources of established U.S. installations in the area?

Right, so you believe the government should grow in regards to national defense, while others believe government should grow with regards to social policy. Which is more invasive, health care reform or the Patriot Act?

A point of refernce would help here. Bernie Sanders is a socialist. In what way does Obama differ from him. France has a socialist party that I believe is in power right now. How does that party and its leaders differ from Obama?

Consider the way Bernie Sanders would have approached the bank bailout as an example. He would likely do wide scale nationalization as well as some very direct wealth transfers. Obama did not do this, but tried to find more (not completely mind you) market oriented solutions similar to what the top government economists at the time were suggesting.
