What are your opinions on welfare management? Several mainstream options of handling welfare are in the poll.

Feds and states. There should be certain standards set by the federal government and then states can choose the specific policies according to their population within those standards. What are your opinions on welfare management? Several mainstream options of handling welfare are in the poll.

I don't see why the federal government is involved at all.
When we're discussing "welfare", just what does that entail? I think most of us would include TANF, and perhaps subsidized housing. Food stamps could be seen as both welfare and agricultural subsidy. Social Security? Is that welfare? Medicare? Medicaid? What is welfare, anyway?
All of it. If it's used to increase the general welfare of it's users, then it's welfare
So, that would include tax breaks, subsidies, government funded projects, the whole nine yards. Personally, I'd end most of it.All of it. If it's used to increase the general welfare of it's users, then it's welfare
even if you spend 45 years paying into the system? Social Security is not welfare...

In that case, no. Disability and such are
I would have to agree if you apply it to all Disability. Disable veterans have clearly earned their disability payments, it is not welfare, but something earned.
I'm not sure TBH, I do believe that Welfare should be tied to some kind of work program/education program in order to improve the lives of the people on welfare so that they can eventually get out of the program.
I feel the same. Who runs the program? That doesn't matter to me so long as the program is run to help and not coddle.
The program would run better if handed to the states with federal regulations IMO. The need and use will be different from state to state so blanketing the entire system wouldn't do much good and would ultimately be wasteful/inefficient
Just curious, but please list all government programs which YOU define as welfare or welfare programs.
Helping those that are down should be handled by families, churches, neighbors and communities. That's the right way.
