I guess when every authority figure around them tells them that white people are racist, it becomes the big lie. The one that you tell big enough, and often enough that it becomes the truth...

like the truths they will never hear, that the democrat party started the KKK, or that Jim Crow laws we built and enacted by democrats, that king was a republican, and that it was republican support, not democrat that got the ERA passed. southern democrats fought HARD against the ERA. That the democrats had the only senator in modern times who created a new chapter of the clan... (Robert "Sheets" Byrd as tip o'neal used to call him.)

but no, the parties dropped everything they fought for, for a 100 years and "Swapped sides"

Yeah, that seems legit to me.

This doesn't make any sense for two reasons:
1) If they believed that all white people were racist, then how do you explain their regular habit of voting for white Democratic politicians?
2) If they're so easily misled by some "authority figure," then why haven't the evil Democrats just applied the same technique to other voting blocs? Are the other groups just smarter than blacks?

1) Because they are told the that the Democrat party isnt the party of the whites...

2) Definitely not smarter, maybe just less indoctrinated, ask the likes of Alfonzo Rachel, or C.L. Bryant ( a former local head of the NAACP) what happens when you don't toe the line...

Well, then why do you suppose that blacks have been "indoctrinated" by the evil Democrats to a greater extent than other voting blocs, if they're just as smart? Why don't the Democrats just indoctrinate everyone? :roll:

I am not going to go down this road with you. Just try to be a black man or woman who isnt a democrat, you will be called an "Uncle Tom" you will be shunned by other members of the community... I witnessed
this kind of thing first hand, That anyone trying to better themselves with education was a "Sell Out" or just trying to be "White"

I don't believe for a moment that any one race is more or less intelligent than another... but peer pressure, and your friends can have a major impact on what you do, and what you see.

And you don't think that black voters are able to turn on their television or computer and notice that most Democratic politicians, like most Republican politicians, are white? For someone who takes great umbrage at accusations of racism, you sure don't seem to have much faith in the intelligence of black people.

No sir, I have great faith in them, but they see almost all of the politicians from all sides are white, and that the few blacks they do see are dems... well except for "Uncle Toms" like Herman Cain, and Allen West...

It is you, not I that keeps wanting me to say that blacks are somehow less intelligent... I have now said repeatedly that I think nothing of the sort.

when those around you in leadership continue the big lie ... you believe it.. it doesnt matter who you are, what race you are... it has happened with people of every race and creed... so please let's not attribute to malice, what is a simple disagreement in the reasons why.

Not rationing, that ended after WWII... "Food Stamps" are a supplimental nutrition program set up to provide vouchers for the purchase of food for those who have incomes of 130% of the poverty level or less.

Carolina and Georgia. In fact, he got a standing ovation when he said it in S. Carolina. But Newt wasn't the first to use racial coded buzzwords. Goldwater did it, Nixon did it, Reagan did it, GHW Bush did it, GWBush did it ....so nowadays it almost seems natural for the GOP to use blacks as scapegoats to get elected. And why not since they know they aren't going to get the black vote anyway and using coded buzzwords and dog whistle rhetoric helps to shore up the white conservative base....as evidenced by that poll.

But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me—because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "Nigger, nigger".

Yes. And is one of the most useful programs. I mean, it's food. If they're poor, it's cool to help them eat better. We all wish there were less fraudsters in the system but I'll guess most of it accomplishes its purpose and uses domestic products for the most part.

Now, if I were asked to come up with a list of MUCH less useful programs.......:)

Please cite this... I have never heard that and if so it is disgusting, if it is what you say it is...
 
I suspect the same people calling Obama the "Food stamp President" are also upset about class warfare. Ironic.

People need foodstamps because they got too many kids they can't feed working for minimum wage.

I guess POLITICALLY I could see why one would continue a "Southern Strategy" if it worked... but it doesn't

I still havent found where Newt said that he was going for a "Southern Strategy" ... but I will keep looking.

Also, Reagan won a heck of a lot more states than just the south,

in 1980,
