Bain Capital Files Leaked Online Offer Details On Mitt Romney Holdings
"One expert on private equity taxation, University of Colorado law professor Victor Fleischer, said Thursday in a blog posting that the records from one entity, Bain Capital Fund VII LP, a Cayman Islands-based offshore account, showed that the fund's managers appear to have converted their fees from ordinary income to future capital gains. Such a maneuver, Fleischer said, would allow the income to be deferred and taken later at a lower 15 percent capital gains rate."

As of 2011, Ann Romney's blind trust held between $100,000 and $1 million of that fund, according to Romney's 2011 presidential financial disclosure statement."

Is this accurate? And, there is a bunch more of this stuff. Is it all a lie? What does stuff like this meen?

shrug...
... I'm focused on who can reduce the size, scope and power of the government.
And give that power to a corporation in the Cayman Islands?

I have to ask: If we modeled our government after the Cayman Island government would we where you want the US to be?

All we have here is are groups of people on both sides with some fantastic notion the the other guy is hiding something...that the other guy will do ANYTHING to keep it hidden...that that something must be so important they will go to any lengths to not reveal it.

How is it a FANTASTIC NOTION that a man making tens of millions of dollars a year and should be in the 35% tax bracket but is actually well under 15% is NOT hiding something? That would seem to be a very reasonable assumption.

I wonder how much chinese stock roney owns?

Good question. Lets expand it to ALL of his foreign investments. I want a person whose priorities are America and the American people first.

Congress makes the laws that the President signs, lets expand to include all of the people in Congress and their spouses. If you really want to address the people you want, you should start with Congress. Lets start with Reid and Pelosi.

As to the poll question. I think both tax returns and education transcripts are non issues as long as neither the IRS or the college/university is going after the canidates. Instead of talking points both Romney and Obama are spouting, I would be more interested on how they plan to achieve their goals.

A more reasonable assumption would be that he is following the law.

Again, who is saying that he is not? That strawman has been chopped to little pieces weeks ago.

My god!!

That statement could only be posted by a crazy taxer...

Dude, you live in bizzaro-world.

Pushing this stupid TAXER label is beyond ridiculous. I wonder on what day Limbaugh floated this new marching order to the right?

Dude, I'm not pushing the taxer label...you are with your ridiculous crazy rhetoric.

Oh, I know you are only looking for something that you can frame to be embarrassing to Romney. I don't share your desires.

Now, I would be concerned if he broke a law.

But then, I'm not a taxer.

Your own post #135

You used it... you are pushing it .... its a clear and not at all subtle tactic of the right to equate BIRTHERS with those who want to see the Romney tax returns.

And as such it is grossly dishonest because one has NOTHING to do with the other.

You are indeed pushing this stupid TAXER label. Did it again in #138.

I only call it like I see it. I mean, for god sakes, that statement about the Caymans is a perfect example of the crazy rhetoric I spoke of.

But, like birthers, taxers will say any stupid, ridiculous thing...if they somehow think it applies to their mindset.

Don't you think that's rather pathetic?

Why would first deny that you are pushing this silly TAXER label but when called on it you now sheepishly admit to it? I think that is indeed rather pathetic.

Oh, I see...

You, somehow, think that because I identify taxer talk when I see it, I'm PUSHING the stuff.

LOL!!

Sounds to me someone is embarrassed to be called a rose.

When you use a made up label that had no previous meaning until it was politicized by the right - YES - you are pushing it.

Why did you first deny it?

Oh...

Now you are going from embarrassment to anger. For what? For being given a label that perfectly identifies your actions?

Perhaps you should examine your actions that earned that label, eh? Instead of attacking me for legitimately using the label.

Mitt Romney wants to lead America and its 311 million people. As such I want to find out if he truly is an American patriot who places the nation and its people first. His tax returns will tell us about the decisions he has made over the last decade and what his priorities were and are in this regard.

His returns are indeed a matter of national importance and should and are a crucial issue in this election.
I don't see them as having that deep of a connection, but then I'm not an extremely partisan person either.

stop lying. many of those jobs were off shored by the reality that if companies kept paying 4X for unskilled labor they would go out of business.

Evidently, you have not compared the historical increase in CEO's gains in income to that of the working class.

Neither are that important. They are both simply issues to get away from the real issues.

I quite agree. However, the question asks for equivlency, and I don't think they are equal either. But, the more important point is neither really matter.

The IRS offered amnesty to quite a few people that were involved with doing their taxes in ways similar to what the Romney’s did. And you know that the only place that shows up is in amended tax forms. If the Romney’s were offered and accepted amnesty would that be a nonissue for you?
