Is it Time to Let Women Rule the World?

Let Women Rule The World

I learned something new today, thank you. I've served under female Soldiers of substantially higher rank, and I've had female bosses and supervisors. Some were good, some were bad, no different than male leadership, really. Honestly, if it were just directives on paper, I wouldn't be able to tell if they were written by a man or a woman. The whole "kinder and gentler" thing doesn't make sense to me, though, because in Korea during my first room clearing exercise, it was my squad leader who told me to make sure every "hadji" was dead. She was very stern about it, too. The gender doesn't matter to me, their skills and knowledge do. Just as with anybody else.

Your experience differs considerably from mine.

Especially with regards to female squad leaders doing house-clearing...

Have you seen a group of all women in action? It does not work out to well. Besides it had nothing to do with there ability to rule or govern.

Just admit your hatred of all things male and move on.

That's such an asinine statement.

I do not hate men.

What I hate is our completely inept and totally bastardized system of government.

I want drastic, mind bending change.

I want people to scream: "Holy PHUCK!!!! I have had enough!!!!"

I refuse to hope/think/believe that repeating the same thing over and over and over will yield different results.

I am just going by your posts. It is not even a huge leap by any stretch. I will however not call you a liar and take your word for it.

And considering women have been in government, rulers etc. What does sex have to do with anything?

Putting a woman in charge will change nothing. We get exactly the government our apathetic voters, people, society deserve.

Nothing to do with gender though the fairer sex are equally capable.

Really? Then why are so many dead-set against it? Why is the government so lop-sided?

Is it simply because women are that much smarter then men, and chose to stay out of the gigantic cluster-phuck that is Washington DC?

Take the cue from Germany and the CEO of Pepsi to name a few.

Nothing wrong with electing women to positions of power, clearly it's been done before, but I wouldn't vote for a woman just because she's a woman any more than I'd vote for someone because they were a Mormon or black. Qualifications matter, basing the position strictly on something arbitrary like gender, race or religion is short sighted. Hell, Italy elected a female ex porn star. I don't follow European politics so I don't know how that turned out, but it probably made for much more entertaining press and public appearances.

Dragonfly I dont think most men have any problem voting for a woman...and lets be realistic intelligence isnt gender driven...some men are some women are..etc....Govt is lopsided because more men run...not because more women lose...

I wish I could believe that....but look at many of the posts here...it's not very reassuring.

This is a forum...3/4s bs and the rest just dumb like me

That's only one of many examples. The cruelest people I've ever known are mostly women; they aren't the sweet innocent lil things they're made out to be.

I would prefer not to have a major war every fourth week, thanks.
Why not? I kinda like the idea that we wouldn't have been in Afghanistan more than 4 weeks longer then was necessary. Maybe the post-haste offered by women would be a good thing.

This is a dubious question. Neither sex should rule the other. We should be equals and share power.

You know what? Sometimes I just think "to hell with it", give them the power, give them the thrones, give them the nuclear football. It's time humanity learns a painful lesson in what a matriarchal civilization looks like. If it gets to this point, I hope men decide to tune in, turn on, and drop out en masse. Then they can turn the tables and blame the world's problems on women. As for me, I'll be too drunk to care.

Men have pretty much proven they can't pilot this ship. They had tens-of-thousands of years at the helm and it seems we're all on the Titanic. Either we've already hit the iceberg, or we're on a collision course.

Isn't it about time we throw in the towel? perhaps let somebody different have a try?

Who better to "clean up the mess" men have made? :3oops:

Change? You want change?

Put the ladies in charge.

On every level of government. From the POTUS right down to the mail room janitor and every place in between.

Fill every office, every cabinet position, and every seat in congress with females.

Could they really do a worse job then the men have done?

Having spent a lifetime observing women in general and observing snarkiness, backbiting, petty jealousy, PMS, hormonal imbalances, etc.. It is my opinion that it would not be an improvement. I will also admit that men have not done such a great job. Actually, they have done a human job that seems to be just one notch removed from a handjob to the whole planet. As long as our babies are happy and not hungry, we are contented, ignorant, and reluctant to stir the pot. It needs stirring and maybe that would be a valid reason to put women in charge. The metaphor is not meant to suggest pot stirring like working in a kitchen.

Damn Necro thread.

I know I will be called a women hater for this, but most women are collectivists and we already have enough of them around with mostly men in charge. If it was mostly women then that problem would only be worse.

Maggie Thatcher was in power for 12 years..she did nothing for women..but she broke the unions...

I never paid much mind to Margaret Thatcher and my knowledge of her is admittedly lackluster, but I love this quote..

I think we have gone through a period when too many children and people have been given to understand "I have a problem, it is the Government's job to cope with it!" or "I have a problem, I will go and get a grant to cope with it!" "I am homeless, the Government must house me!" and so they are casting their problems on society and who is society? There is no such thing! There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first. It is our duty to look after ourselves and then also to help look after our neighbour and life is a reciprocal business and people have got the entitlements too much in mind without the obligations.

Bravo! Well said is all I can say really.

Jacques Chirac...president of France..when he met her he said ''she has the eyes of Caligula..and the mouth of Marylin Monroe''

I do not think any one group should "rule" the world.

However I am willing to bet The Council of indigenous International Grandmothers could make better decisions on most issues than the nations rulers.

International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers

Happy St Patricks Day everyone! (I am rarely around here anymore yet this is the best political forum on the web I have run across!)

I don't think we should "let" anybody do anything. If you want to lead then you should earn it. Women are capable, they just don't participate at the same level as men, and that's our own fault. We don't need to see some sort of gender-based AA program for leadership roles just to balance the scales.

You think all of our pass presidents have "earned it"? The only thing they have earned is the silver spoon pass on to each new generation. It could not be any worse than the new low we have now.

IF you have to 'put' someone in charge of something its probably a pretty good bet they aren't up to the task.
