You wouldn't understand, you're not a true atheist.

That's why I'm starting the Atheist Church. We believe in a non-deity higher power, compromised of all conscious and subconscious entities animate and inanimate. We also believe in the spirit or soul as ones influence in this world that goes on without the body. We don't believe in consciousness after death. We study the Bible, fear god (note the lower-case) and praise Jesus.

What on Earth does that have to do with what you said previously?

We have been out-hooliganized. All may be lost.

I would like to add Plato to the fire as well (we're burning books, right?). Another guy who invented a political ideology to sell a story. Delusional and narcissistic.

Plato was delusional and narcissistic? Ok, I gotta hear that one. Tell me how. There were no people or shadows, he made all that up?

So that's why religion is so OVER-REPRESENTED in prison populations and atheism so UNDER-REPRESENTED, huh?

Because allot of them convert. Sort of like no atheists in a foxhole. Same thing.

Of course you knew this.

Name the last time your hated Christians forced you to do anything

Never -- I've never lived in an area where Christians were in enough numbers to enforce religious-based, restrictive legislation (not so that I'd notice, at least). I do know one atheist who currently lives in such a town in the South, and yeah, he's definitely a lot more active and vocal. Hooooeeeeee, he really gets into it with them. If I were in his situation I'd get the hell out of there if I could, but that's just me. I guess he's got a house or something and picking up and moving isn't so easy.

You wouldn't understand, you're not a true atheist.

No, no, I'm a True Atheist™. I've even got a membership card that gets me a 10% discount at Trader Joes.

LMAO! OK that was a good one. Always appreciate good humor!

restrictive legislation like no stealing, raping and killing?

Yeah. Remember that time before Christ when stealing, rape and murder were perfectly legal? Those must have been four thousand extremely long crappy years. Or awesome years. It depends on whether you're on the business end or not, I guess.

We're talking about entry statistics, what people report when they come *INTO* prison so they can make allowances for religious observances, etc. The religious are seriously over-represented in prison populations compared to their numbers on the outside. Atheists are seriously under-represented in prison populations compared to their numbers on the outside.

And there are tons of atheists in foxholes.

One time in Vietnam, I was scared out of my mind and I prayed desperately. That only demonstrates that a person has to be out of his mind to believe in invisible creatures who will save him.

70% of the population is Christian alone. Not even including Muslim etc. So that is perfectly understandable and no, not that many atheists in the fox hole just looking at the population. So yes they should be under represented.

Again you knew this.

Thank you for making my point.

Knew you were wrong? Yes, I knew that. Upwards of 90% of people going into prison report that they are theists of some sort and the vast majority of those report that they are Christians. Far less than 1% of people going into prison report they are atheists.

And yes, there are tons of open atheists in foxholes.

Seems to me you don't want to admit that religion has problems.

Ayn Rand was a joke. Her faux ideology is worse than a joke. Todays randroids would have to multiply their teeny tiny numbers by a factor of at least ten to work UP to the level of a joke.

You didn't think so at the time . . .

I would say that Karl Marx is closer to L Ron Hubbard over Ayn Rand.

Yeah. Remember that time before Christ when stealing, rape and murder were perfectly legal?

Yes, before Christianity stealing, rape and murder were not only legal but common. In fact it took either conversion or puppet governments lead by and only by Christians to stop it.

Those must have been four thousand extremely long crappy years. Or awesome years. It depends on whether you're on the business end or not, I guess.

Why is that?

Why is that?

In the last episode of the great series QUANTAM LEAP, the bartender explains to Sam that sometimes the best explanation is "thats just the way it is".

I cannot improve upon that wisdom. But here is an attempt.

A faux political philosophy based on personal selfishness and the justification for its meaner impulses is not a good thing when you live in a society with other people. Cooperation and mutual interest is necessary for civilization to flourish . Rand is the antithesis of such concepts.

You do realize that Niet and Mach wrote the same thing long before she did, right?
