There is nothing wrong with being rich, most aspire to it. It's greed that is the problem, a willingness to do anything for more $$$$$, screw the enviorment, & fellow man just to amass more $$$$$.Wealth is a matter of luck, way more often then talent of any kind. Luck to be born in America, luck to be born wealthy, the luck to go to good schools, the luck to find a market for whatever trade you may pursue. Whit some sucking the $$$$ upward just to keep more & more , paying millions to buy pol's to get a return of billions with new laws that will suck every last dime upward, eventually there won't be any more at the bottom, what then? :peace

Are we talking about "environmental" Al Gore in his TN mansion, using more electricity than the rest of his town combined? Or perhaps the "green" loving millionaire Michael Moore that jets around the country telling us all will be better if we watch his movies, get fat and tour around the country to ask for more of other peoples money. Yep, those nice rich guys on the left are always warning us about those mean rich guys on the right; curiously, when we get a rare peek at their personal tax returns, it is those mean rich guys that give away far more to charity causes, while the nice guys want higher taxes paid by most, so that they may be seen as generous too.

It depends on what his Etch-A-Sketch says at the moment.

Being a liberal takes more than having a couple liberal positions. I have a couple positions that are generally considered conservative(I disagree, but that is another issue), that hardly makes me a conservative.

I also believe in calling out those who need to be called out. And that is what I am doing with Romney and his supporters.

We are on the cusp at this time in history. It reminds me a great deal of a chapter in the US History book I used to teach from which labeled the era of the 1850's as The Failure Of The Politicians. And we know what the result of that was.

Wanting to see America remain great for all its people seems to be something to be mocked and derided by some here. Fine. We obviously have very very different visions of what America is and who the American people are.

I would ask that all read the excellent work by William R. Shirer- THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH. Shirer was the NY Times reporter in Germany for a long time and his book does a thorough and insightful job in chronicling the rise of nazism in Germany. One cannot help but read it and compare far too many similarities between what is happening in the USA today.

As the elf queen Galadriel said in LORD OF THE RINGS, we are balanced on the edge of a knife. Stray and we could fail as a nation and as a people. I would hope we can successfully find a way to neither cut ourselves in half nor fall into oblivion.

And Washnut - exposing the agenda of the far right wing is engaging in a true debate of ideas. Perhaps they are ideas you simply do not want exposed?[/QUOTE

Michigan was once a bastion for the middle class. Now it is filled with politicians like you and is a basket case. There seems to be a lot of talk about far right. It seems to me we should look at the destruction done to this country by what is the new far left.

You seem to be also frantic with recent posts, now pointing to the rise and fall of third reich. Get a grip.

Sad the depths you will go to malign others. Shows another side of the new far left. Attack any who do not toe the line I hopes of scaring them off. Your slime will not scare me off.

Not sure liberal posters on this site would agree. A fiscal conservative and social liberal is from the FAR right according to many here.

A fiscal conservative and social liberal tends to be a libertarian, though there are exceptions. ALso note: I am a liberal poster on this site, so at least one of us agrees with me. The rest are perfectly within their rights to be wrong.

According to many on this site, libertarians are racist thus hate Obama, e.g. tea party folks. There are many democrats who identify with (the public) Clinton. That would be my definition of liberal, not a libertarian.

Do we really have to play this stupid game? According to many on this site, about a million things are true, most of which are not.

The religion card. If you don't vote for Romney, you hate Mormons. Fair game after all the race baiting when Obama was just a candidate, imo.
No! Let me try to explain. A Mormon has been taught that they are not the same as other people effectively that they are superior to others. This is not equivalent to most other religions. They don't treat others badly, they just understand that they are unfortunate. In Phoenix they called themselves the Good People of the East Valley. They even wrote a law reducing their SUV taxes that was only supposed to be known by them. Almost all Mormon's are Republican. If you understand the Romney is a Mormon first then a Republican second

It still is and I see no objective evidence presented to the contrary.

Now it is filled with politicians like you and is a basket case.
You labor under the false belief that I am a politician. I am not.

There seems to be a lot of talk about far right.
Yes, they are the major threat to the future of America.

It seems to me we should look at the destruction done to this country by what is the new far left.
By all means do present your verifiable evidence to support that statement of historical fact.

You seem to be also frantic with recent posts, now pointing to the rise and fall of third reich. Get a grip.

I urged people here to read the book by William L. Shirer THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH. It is one of the most priased works of history in the last half century. I did so hoping people here can learn from it.
You do understand that there was a real flesh and blood third reich and they play a major role in the history of the 20th century of the world don't you?
You do understand that we can learn from history don't you?

We have posters her on the right openly advocating revolution and breaking up of America. I think Shirer would be great reading for them and everyone here.

Sad the depths you will go to malign others
.
Please show where I went to depths to malign anyone. What I stated was what many others here have stated - that Mitt Romney is a man lacking any true beliefs or convictions and has sold his soul to the far right to be nominated by the party controlled by the far right. I have stated that if the party of the far right gains control of all three branches of government and enacts many of the ideas they have loudly and long espoused, that such results would be terrible for America.

How is that anything but honest?

Shows another side of the new far left. Attack any who do not toe the line I hopes of scaring them off. Your slime will not scare me off.

I do not expect to scare you off. I do not expect to convince you. I do not expect to appeal to you for your support. All those things mean nothing to me and are more inconsequential than being irrelevant.

sort of sounds like most of the politicians these days. Romney has never engaged in the bash the rich BS that Obama is banking on to buy the votes of the envious, the wannabes and the never wills

Hardly. Romney has flipped flop on almost every position he's taken. It's ridiuclous how the GOP has nominated a candidate who once donated a large sum to Planned Parenthood to get their endorsement only to turn around and want to defund them entirely. Not to mention the fact he explicitly stated he was against Reagan's policies.

Romney has one belief. And only one.

At the same time A fiscal conservative and social liberal is from the far left according to many here. Remember a disturbing number of people here think if you disagree with them on anything, you're automatically the opposite of them. Absolutely stupid, but a basic reality here.

Funny how hypocrites never seem to feel the same way about Harry Reid. But then...its not like he is the senior democrat in Congress.

So...this is going to be the liberal version of the "Sekret Muslim" crap for this election cycle, huh?

Wow...I'm excited.

Sigh

I know about Mormons, and I don't give two ****s about their religion, anymore than anyone elses. He can be taught that life on earth started after an alien jacked off into the primordial ooze for all I care. I prefer to look at how he actually handles real issues. you know, the things to really look at when selecting a president.

Not that I really care but your comparison is off. Romney is not being called a Muslim. Actually, he's being called exactly what he is - a mormon. Which is about as crazy as religions get. In my scale of religions it's right next to scientology and raelism.

No. Scientology is far more crazy then Mormonism. Seriously, Aliens and old souls causing all your problems? Mormonism is frankly normal compared to that ****.

Raelism in its base logic, that life was created by aliens is really not that odd. It's basically one step above Panspermia which is considered highly scientifically possible.

I think you just proved his point, which is focusing on an "undesirable" personal aspect that has nothing to do with that person as a presidential candidate. Even if Obama were a Muslim, who gives a ****? People say that like it's a bad thing. Same with Mormonism. I pity anyone who decides not to vote for someone based solely on their religious beliefs, I really do.

For the most part I find you free entertainment. Saying you are not a politician while working for one. Perhaps if I had your job I would fake it too.

Yes I know that the Third Reich was real flesh and blood. I know this because much of my grandparents family did not survive them. So you cab take your high minded racist thoughts and shove them where the sun doesn't shine.

I think you just proved his point,

No - I didn't. He said this is comparable to Obama being called a secret Muslim. That's a blatant lie. Romney on the other hand is a Mormon.

When this political season started and people mentioned Romney's religion I thought they were off base. I thought that was out the window with JFK's win 1960.

I wonder how many people who decry (rightfully) racism are on this anti-Mormonism track.

Romney isn't a "liberal", he's status quo.

Don't blame us for this stupid ****. I don't blame conservatives for birthers.
