You should have included the BBC in the poll. I trust them the most.

Yes, another good source for interesting information. Al Jazeera in Europe is OK too.

Do no be so harsh....misguided perhaps. but retarded is a bit too much.

Had to make it worth making a poll, truth be told...anyone who picks NPR will also use the BBC.

and Al Jazeera is a bit beyond half the members here.

Well OK, I guess it's a spectrum. I just...can't watch it. My eyes glaze over and I cringe. I find no appreciable difference between it and Jerry Springer or pro wrestling. How would you otherwise describe an incessant onslaught of propaganda, manipulative rhetoric, garden variety nonsequiturs, questionable premises going unquestioned, generalizations, argument taken to absurd extremes and conclusory invective met with nodding enthusiasm? The audience must be daft. It's a fairly unavoidable assessment.

Well I think that was my point. I think enough people engage in air travel now that it should not be the case. Every tom Dick and Harry now goes to benelux at some time or another. And when they do hopefully they might take the time to notice that Al Jazeera is not all about sepia toned people of middle eastern extraction mobbing a town square shooting kalashnikovs in the air. It is basically mainstream coverage. If you like decent conservative news TV, I would recommend Australia.

THe one thing these polls are useful for is to weed out the bias non-objective illogical hacks

to bad this one doesnt have MSNBC in the main poll.

every time I see these things I just immediately look to see if anybody voted for Fox or MSNBC and then I immediately add them to the illogical bias hack list. 95% of the time they are already on it though because usually all you have to do is read one post for these nitwits and its very evident they are blind loons and very bias.

I would call it...Entertainment News.

"Going back to the Syrian matter, even though thousands of independent videos & reports prove mainstream media lied and fabricated fake information, the majority of the masses – even after the now totally exposed lies on the Iraq war – will still tend to whether agree and accept, or, be totally uninterested by the topic.

Under the R2P myth and demonization campaigns against Bashar Al Assad the world has been fed with. Copy/paste with the war on Iraq. Copy/Paste with the war on Libya. Copy/Paste Copy/Paste Copy/Paste… People won’t take the time to think by themselves and refer to the constitution of their country, to international law, to anything… They’ll massively accept what corrupt mainstream media tell them to think. Worst part, is that most of them will then dare talking about it as if they independently took the time to think and research about it."

I don't care about bias so very much. I can account for that. NPR has the highest quality factual in depth content, and it is not even close. Fox is the worst, and it is not even close. Fox is a 24/7 Republican party infomercial geared to appease a nearly retarded viewership. NPR has novel experts on diverse subjects who are interviewed at length, as opposed to the others listed here, which tend to have a revolving handful of supposed jack-of-all trade pundits shouting invective in 5 second soundbites back and forth at one another, all modeled after Fix news.

I learn nothing from those programs and so don't ever watch them. I am certain that anyone who watches Fox news for more than 1 hour per day would be really, really pressed to sit still and read a good thick book. I mean it. They are retarded.

BBC and NPR lie about facts surrounding U.S. wars constantly, and they have been propagandizing for the British and American States for the reason that major oil field contracts were awarded to both countries following Iraq. (We have yet to see who gets what from Libya.) But after being a megaphone for wars for so many years, how can anyone honestly say their reliable?

BBC, NPR, Al Jazeera are all propaganda organs of the State. The goal is imperialism, loot and pillage. And to these these Big Brother outlets, the Big Lie is the humanitarian cause. The mercenaries of Libya and Syria are funded by the State Dept., and are ruthless killers committing war crimes America is using for its ground wars.

Just as BBC/NPR relied on NeoCon fabricated WMD lies from Bush/Cheney for Iraq, so too are they have been from the beginning relying on State Dept. funded terror groups like the Free Syrian Army for their information and casualty reports, and using the fake cell-phone videos put on YouTube to bolster imperialist intervention aims, the same way the thoroughly discredited Al-Jazeera english, (now propagandizing Pacifica Radio public stations) does.

The Facebook Arab Spring and spontaneous demonstrations, my eye. More like push button activism remotely instigated by CentCom in Quatar, home of Al Jazeera english, where the U.S. military base there co-ordinates regime change propaganda broadcasts and using Facebook and Twitter postings to generate the appearance of democratic uprisings on behalf of the American Pentagon.

or maybe it is the reality that those who label themselves as Liberal, Left, Socialist and Progressive have more open minds and are more willing to listen to those opinions which may not be in agreement with their own thoughts in an effort to attain better understanding of serious matters - unlike the True Believers who already 'know' the Truth and reality be damned.

No, certainly not. Nice try though.

All networks are biased towards ratings, so if they have to revive yellow journalism to capture a niche of hyper-partisan, under-educated viewers, they've proven willing to do so. The joke is on the viewer for not realizing this. I don't really watch news anymore because it tends to be as depressing and simplistic as possible. The Michael Jackson **** went on how many years?

They just go from tragedy to celebrity death to political talking point. They have a knack for spending endless hours letting "experts" back and forth on "controversies" like Obama wishing school kids a good year. In the rare event they report on some new research, they draw causal claims out of thin air (for example Mozart effect). What I'm saying is they all suck equally.

I more or less subscribe to the thesis of Herman & Chomsky in Manufacturing Consent. With respect to serious news (not Michael Jackson), examples of the undervalued victims as one part of the case proving a propaganda model are made and it is a pretty compelling argument. That said, I find that the liberal stations and the public broadcasting stations tend to have a broader range of international coverage, certainly far more detail and depth, as well as more and varied experts more closely tailored to the subject matter under discussion. In short, you won't get the bleating pro-status quo coverage and nonsensical fluff you despise if you stick with NPR or KPBS.

And before you write me off as a liberal, VOA is a decent outlet for news. They have some solid fact based reporting. My beef is largely like yours, I like serious news, not piffle and trifling garbage. (MSNBC and Fix news)

Another quality tip is to read print media. It tends to be better. Not internet, actual print media.

It amazes how deluded people still think there is a free press in this country. Your views on public broadcasting are 20 years old. PBS/NPR are censored propaganda by definition due to being under written by CIA fronts like Annenberg and Ford Foundation, and other corp. entities.

Provide your proof of CIA front groups control PBS. I'll need to see your Top Secret and NATO top secret clearances too. The MIC already has VOA. Not all dissident media is quality. It is mostly propaganda, because they don't have an extra thin dime to spend.

"It simply amazes me how you are so deluded. Your news is a Martian front organization." See how easy it is to say nothing?

Talk is cheap.

My favorite presidential candidate is Gary Johnson. If I relied on MSM only, I still might not have heard of him. I get most of my news from the internet.

Gotta love Fox. They say 1 thing on TV. Go to their internet site & they say opposite on same issue.

So are Republican lemmings. They are a dime a dozen.

You want to read about it?

Go to the Search Box on this site and type "Ford Foundation."

Speaking of demagogues like Romney, Ron Paul, Alex Jones and Webster Tarpley -

I was listening to this other bulls**t artist on the radio, who said - (when comparing the Bush/Obama foreign policies) Obama only killed something like 200-300 people with drones compared to Bush's 1.5 million killed in Iraq. This kind of American Politics where newspapers, TV, and radio constantly traffic in HUGE LIES complete with Orwellian style CENSORSHIP 24-7, you wouldn't know it but Obama killed at least 100,000 people in Libya largely with American bombs and bombers and U.S. mercenaries and "NATO" as it was called, (France and the UK) only played the most minor roles, the rest of the "allies" supporting Libya read like another "Coalition of the Willing" fiasco. When your ENTIRE MEDIA is run by a tiny clique of pro-war fascists, the only mesage you hear is the dogma of the State.

Id say CNN at least out of the ones I watch
