Obviously Jeb Bush.

1) They already know how to spell his name
2) We've had 2 other Bush dynasty members

I thought about including him, but he recently said that 2012 was "his time" to run.

should Romney lose, my guess is Paul Ryan.

if not 2016, then eventually. i hope that i'm wrong. privatizing medicare would be a big mistake.

Desperation will win out. After 8 years of Obusha, we can return to the Bushes.

Not sure Christie has genuine presidential aspirations, and Ryan is a bit too controversial to be considered a safe bet, so I'll go with Rubio. He seems to have an incredibly devoted (bordering on cult like) following already, however since this is a hypothetical scenario that involves Romney losing, that may largely hinge on whether or not Rubio is picked as VP, and whether he keeps his nose clean and remains in the good graces of GOP voters in a losing effort.

I'll go with Rob Portman. Could go to any of the guys up there and a few who aren't, but I think Portman could be the type of guy to gather some national momentum.

Someone with no intellectual integrity who's entire platform is misinformation and hyperbole and who is propped up by corporate money. In other words, business as usual.

IF Romney wins-Romney

If Oblamer wins Rob Portman

Other- Jeb Bush has a shot and it is way too early to tell. Maybe some political genius will come out of nowhere and surprise us all

i picked rick santorum, because he's the only one who ran in this years race. It's his turn.
Plus if the r's keep listing to the extreme right, he'll be a moderate. :peace

republicans were really desperate for a not-romney candidate, and the results show santorum wasn't good enough.

You libs can make all the goofy comments you want, but it won't be santorum or gingrich or palin or cain.

I really hope not. Not one person in that list would make a good president. The GOP has had some extremely awful candidate (such as Cain) and Romney ain't no Georgia peach either. Where are all the smart people in each party?

Gosh Luna, that's what I said. Another Bush.

She'll be the best Republican in the field.

she'd be the best candidate for far lefties such as you who want the dems to win

2016 could see Hillary Clinton versus Nikki Haley or Michele Bachmann.

batGirl will never be the nominee- not enough wattage. Nikki Haley maybe but I see Portman as the leading contender. its way too early to speculate accurately though

and if Mitt wins, he will be the nominee in 2016 in all probability

But, it's always about whose turn it is. Maybe Jon Huntsman or Thaddious McCotter, but it will be someone who ran this year. :peace

If Romney loses this year, the entire make up of the GOP will alter significantly, or will be reduced to rubble and conservatives will likely go elsewhere and there will be a strong 3rd party conservative choice. This year is the last gasp for the GOP as it has been for the last 10 years. In a sense I am almost hoping for a Romney loss as him winning will only drag out the GOP and keep its power, which badly needs to be stripped.
