I voted for Bush Sr. back in '92, because I liked the guy... still do... and had no idea who this stranger from Arkansas was about. By '96, I'd figured out that Clinton was a lousy husband and a whoring horndog, but a damned good president. So I voted for him. In 2008 I was presented with Bush-lite and BubbleBrain versus UnqualifiedProfessionalCampaigner and FootInMouth. So I didn't vote for either of 'em.

my first vote ever was for Perot. i turned 18 the week before voting.

i think Clinton did a decent job, however.

Agreed. Clinton did do a decent job. Other than the way he treated the military. I was a young Marine then and remember having to duct tape my flak jacket closed, use 550 cord for a chin strap on my helmet, sew holes closed on my cammies, only half my unit being allowed to train because we didn't have the rounds for everyone to shoot, having to steal from each other to make trucks run, etc. It was a sad display. A lot of people don't realize how poor we (the military) were. We went into the 2003 invasion very under equipped. I remember we only had one SAPI (small arms protective insert, a "bullet proof" plate) per person than only stopped a 9mm round. Kinda sucked considering we were going against an army that had a high powered assault rifle. I had to give up my plate to my turret gunner so he had a front and back SAPI plate in. Yep, those were the days. When stealing from the Army was something I was trained to do as a young Marine. We used to drive from Camp Lejeune to Fort Bragg (about 2 hours) just to steal equipment from the Army. LOL. Great times.

Semper Fi my friend, thank you for your service, love the old sea stories......My time in the military was some of the best of my life......

I wouldn't be born until the next year, but I would probably vote for Perot. As Bigfoot pointed out he was anti-gun, anti-free trade, and pro drug war. However, with the exception of the second one, I don't see the difference between him and the other two candidates on these issues. Clinton may have been a decent President, and Bush Sr wasn't all that bad. However, I don't think either of them got economics as well as Perot. The man is far from perfect in my eyes, but he would have gotten my vote had I been born in or before 1974.

I voted for Bush then, and still would.
Perot was a lifelong Democrat, I had no reason to think he would change his tune.
Clinton was the Democrat, and to me they represent loss of freedom, and higher taxes.
The same party that resisted abolition, resisted the civil rights movement,
and promoted English as a second language in schools (EOSL promotes second class citizens.)
Bush Senior was a moderate, but the man had integrity.
